Review - Amazon.com :
Already a star in Europe, singer Laura Pausini guns for points west with From the Inside, her English language debut. She just might do it, too--Celine Dion was wildly successful peddling a similar set of gauzy, adult-pop ballads aimed straight at the heart. That said, Pausini eschews histrionics in favor of clear-eyed readings with the emphasis on melody and enunciation. The haunting "Every Little Thing You Do"--which appears twice, as a full-blown suite and a stripped down piano-vocal reprise--is pure gooseflesh, all shooting sonic stars and wispy minor chords behind Pausini's trembling mezzo. "I Do to Be" and "Every Day Is a Monday" (the latter already familiar to Italian and Spanish fans) are shiny, hands-on-hips pop struts and welcome reprieves from From the Inside's abundant slow-burning moments. --Kim Hughes

- Excellent English-language Debut from a Fabulous Artist
I hadn't heard of Laura until 10/15/02 when I was at a free AOL show to advertise 8.0 in New York when a screen playing Laura Pausini's SURRENDER music video appeared from nowhere. Who was this person, and why were they showing her video? I soon found out, because she was suddenly on stage 5 yards from me lip-syncing the video, emerging from the darkness. Then the audio turned off, and she proceeded to sing the song live. By the time she'd left, she's sung SURRENDER and IF THAT'S LOVE. She'd captivated the audience; they loved her.

I have to admit, the two songs didn't particularly *amaze* me, but I very much admired her ability to get up and so splendidly perform in front of an easy 2000+ audience that didn't even know who she was. So I bought the CD on 12/03/02. I have loved it ever since. It absolutely spooks me to think that this talented lady was standing feet from me and I had no idea of just how great she was when the event was happening. It's very frustrating, but also an experience to remember; one like no other. The CD really amazed me that much. Songs like the rocking LOVE COMES FROM THE INSIDE, innocent yet excellent pop like EVERY DAY IS A MONDAY and SURRENDER as well as pure Celine-esque balladry with tunes like IT'S NOT GOODBYE and IF THAT'S LOVE all stick like ear candy. However, the best 2 tracks here are both versions of EVERY LITTLE THING YOU DO, an absolutely beautiful song, particularly the piano/vocal reprise version. (A little story behind the song: Laura recorded it with the same microphone Madonna recorded her hit FROZEN with. While recording Madonna would put her gum on the microphone. For luck, Laura did this too.) Indeed, Laura did not need the luck. How modest of her to think she needed any. One listen and you will certainly know she did not. Almost definitely after one full listen to this album and you will want to explore Laura's Italian and Spanish outings dating back to 1993; I know I do; I very much look forward to expanding my Laura collection past this CD. She is definitely an artist for you to be keeping your eye on. (The remixes of SURRENDER reached #5 on the HOT DANCE MUSIC/CLUB PLAY Billboard charts and are now at #7. They too are available as a cool CD-Maxi single that makes a nice companion to FROM THE INSIDE, and getting a copy soon would be a wise move-it's already out of print.)

- Laura Pausini, remember that name!
I was first introduced to Laura Pausini with the song SEAMISAI from Le Cose Che Vivi while enrolled in a Italian course at college. From then on, I was hooked on one of the world's most talented vocalist. Laura's voice knows how to capture your inner emotion, whether it is filled with love or simply heartbroken. It is amazing to see an artist carry that same vocal power in any language. From The Inside proves that Laura can capture any sentiment regardless of which tongue she decides to use. Songs like I Need Love, Do I Dare, and Without You are signature Laura. For those of you are that familiar with her work will recongize the "oooohhhh" she uses in You Are when jumping from the chorus to the second verse. Simply amazing! Contrary to popular belief, Every Day Is A Monday was not a translation of a previous hit, it was origionally written in English and later released as Il Mio Sbaglio Piu Grande/Un Error de los Grandes. The only disappointment I have is the lack of air play and video play that Laura is getting in the US. If you decide to purchase this cd you will not be sorry. Give this already proven world-wide superstar a try, if you are new to Laura get her The Best Of.../Lo Mejor de... cd, it showcases the best this amazing singer has to offer.

- LAURA'S ENGLISH BREAKOUT
When Laura took Spain like a storm about 10 years ago, I really didn't think she would get this far. But with her incredible voice and enchanting persona, she has managed to achieve success after success singing in native Italian, then Spanish and Portuguese. Now her English-language debut shows a more mature Laura. The album focuses more in her ballad style, but also includes powerful up-tempo songs ("Surrender", the first single, "I Do To Be") and two adaptations of her Italian/Spanish hits: It's Not Goodbye (my all-time Laura favourite, "In assenza di te", and "Everyday is a Monday" (Il mio sbaglio piu grande"). I love "Love Comes From the Inside" and "Every Little Thing You Do". Pity that her English tracks from previous European albums (such as "Looking for an Angel", "One More Time" or "The Extra Mile")have not been included as bonus tracks...a good reason to look for all her other recordings!. Good luck, Laura!

- Way to go Paula! :-)
What a great album! I've been listening to Laura Pausini since long time ago, actually have some of her spanish albums but this is the first one I listen that's entirely on english. I tried to search for this album in my local music stores (even in Argentina) but seems only available to people in the US, so I bought it and I dont regret it. Some melodies are familiar to me, who had listened these same tracks on spanish vocals, and some others are just impressing. She's got that candid, pop, sweet voice that distinguih her from the rest.
You should buy this album if you havent heard her sing in english, and if you had, try buying some of her spanish-only albums.

- Laura Pausini in the same way with a new language..
Italian superstar Laura Pausini starts her conquest of America by showing what she can give from the inside.

1.I NEED LOVE
*A beautiful ballad, typical Laura.

2.DO I DARE
*R'n'b/pop song.. Definetely not the best tracks of this album. Little boring.

3.SURRENDER
*Up-tempo song shows that Laura can sing something else too but ballads. Not bad!

4.IF THAT'S LOVE
*A positive surprise on this record. Something new and something old mixed up.. The song shows the power of her voice. Good lirycs.

5.IT'S NOT GOOD-BYE
*An english version of "In assenza di te". Beautiful ballad though it's not a brand new song.

6.LOVE COMES FROM THE INSIDE
*A rock song from Laura. Something that the old fans haven't got to used to hear from her. The song is marked because of its unlikeness.

7.EVERY LITTLE THING YOU DO
*Can be compared to Madonna's "Frozen". Great lirycs though the chorus is repeated too many times. Nice pop song though.

8.EVERY DAY IS A MONDAY
*Another english version of Laura's previous song "Il mio sbaglio piú grande". Lirycs are totally different than in Italian and that cuts down the points of the song. I don't like them. But otherwise it's still very working song.

9.YOU ARE
*Another ballad. Beautiful lirycs don't save the song which is little bit boring and needless on the album.

10.I DO TO BE
*A very nice up tempo song. The pop song takes you away with its rhytmh and sound.

11.WITHOUT YOU
*A very sad ballad about the end of releationship. Laura's voice is very strong. This is best of Laura Pausini.

12.EVERY LITTLE THING YOU DO (piano/vocal reprise)
*Quite nice ballad.. Peaceful.

13.SURRENDER (Toronto Chilled mix)
*A great bonus.. Brings little bit of colour and difference to the record.
