- la meravigliosa LauraThis is my first Laura Pausini CD, but certainly won't be my last; it is an exceptional compilation spanning the years 1993 through 2000, though the early ones have been updated, and read "2001 version".
"Seamisai (sei que me amavas)" is a duet with Brazilian singer/songwriter Gilberto Gil from Laura's 1996 "Le Cose Che Vive" CD, and she sings one song in English, from the soundtrack of the 1999 Kevin Costner film "Message in a Bottle", and it is exquisite, and features the great Dean Parks on guitar.
A winner of many awards, Laura won first place with "La Solitudine" at the prestigious San Remo Festival in '93 when she was 19 years old, and third place with "Strani Amori" in '95.
Laura's voice has a tender and smoky sound when singing softly, and has a powerful high register which she uses masterfully (in this respect she can be compared somewhat to Celine Dion) and her pitch is perfection...it reminds me of a tennis player hitting the ball in the sweetspot of the racket...Laura hits each note in its sweetspot.
The arrangements are lush and beautiful, and many of the songs incredibly lovely, and could not possibly be sung better. The booklet insert has all the lyrics, recording info, and many photos of the doe-eyed Ms. Pausini. The sound is terrific and total playing time is 66'24.

- Five stars is'nt enough! Laura is the best! This is one of the best albums I've ever heard! It's simply the best! This is a collection of Lauras best songs. There is also two new songs, E RITORNO DA TE and UNA STORIA CHE VALE. Both songs are my favourites. I love all her songs. There is one song that I particulary like, it is TRA TE E IL MARE ( BETWEEN YOU AND THE SEA). I love her voice, she sings with emotion. Her very first songs, LA SOLITUDINE (LONELINESS), NON C'Č ( NOT HERE), STRANI AMORI (STRANGE LOVES) and GENTE (PEOPLE) are GREAT! Those songs are made in new versions, and the are REALY GREAT! And the song SEAMISAI is also in a new version but now it is a duett with the brazilian singer Gilberto Gil. Let's not forget the song ONE MORE TIME on the soundtrack for the movie MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE starring Kevin Costner. I love it! I just want to say that this is one of the best albums ever! Buy it!

- Just rightI was a bit disappointed when I learned Laura's new album was going to be a greatest hits compilation. The two new songs meant that I would have to buy it, even if I have all her albums, plus imports! What makes the album worthwhile to an ardent fan are the re-recordings of her 93/94 hits, gracefully without the strained, untrained voice of a younger Laura. "Strani amori" is the most faithful to the original arrangement, while "Non c'č" and "Gente" are more upbeat--the former dancy, and the latter almost bossa nova--and "La solitudine" has a deep tone of melancholy aided by the desperate wail of the piano. Disappointing, though, is the duet on "Seamisai", where Gilberto Gil sounds like he hasn't learned how to sing. Look for the original, more emotional version on 1996's "Le cose che vivi" instead. The other hits are well-chosen, all even someone just being introduced to Laura Pausini will definitely enjoy. Daniel Nelgrado shows further songwriting dexterity on both "E ritorno da te" and "Una storia che vale," and Dado Parisini's rather complex arrangements make up for the elegant tunes. I hope this album will very well give Laura the further international break she rightfully deserves. A fine album, precisely encompassing nearly a decade's career of one of the best Italian singers around. PS: "Dime", which is found only on the Spanish version, is pretty good as well.

- Mi piace questa CDI really like this CD. I am an Italian speaker, and I love listening to Laura sing in Italian. Before buying the CD, on the radio I had heard the Spanish versions of 'Tra te e il Mare', 'Ritorno da te', and 'Incancellabile'. The Italian versions were a pleasent discovery for me. Laura is very talented.

- One of her best AlbumsThis CD is one of the best that Laura Pausini has brought out. It is a collection of her best songs during the decade of the 90s till 2000. Laura Pausini is considered, along with Nek, Eros etc., one of Italy's most known artist in the international music scene. As for her voice, well it is very beautiful and crystal clear. To make the long story short, the songs of this cd are very good and some extraordinary, some are slow (ballads) while some others 'more fast' (pop songs). Either way, buying this cd you will not regret it. Highly recommended!
