Review - Amazon.com :
Essentially a live greatest-hits package, 'Live' Trucker, recorded before several different Detroit-area crowds, reminds us not only that Kid has long been an entertainer first and songwriter second but that he can surprise even the most jaded listener at the most unexpected moment. He works the urban hillbilly angle to the hilt, gives shouts out to Lynyrd Skynyrd and Cobo Hall and offers hope to disenfranchised kids in crummy apartment complexes and trailer parks from sea to shining sea via "Rock 'n' Roll Pain Train" and "American Bad Ass." Although the last name is Rock, Kid's never been afraid of letting a little bit of honky tonk piano into the mix or blending classic southern soul and the heaviest of rap 'n' roll as he does in "Early Mornin' Stoned Pimp." He's also not opposed to revealing his deep and apparently authentic affinity for country, something he does during the touching "Picture" with his Nashville counterpart Gretchen Wilson. Ultimately, 'Live' Trucker rises above the usual stopgap status of live and greatest hits recordings and stands tall, a statue of redneck rebellion, and reveals that Kid Rock's just getting started. --Jedd Beaudoin

- Live Kid rocks!!!
Like the blurb on the packaging says there's no extra's here.... no bonus tracks....no exclusive footage...no remixes... just straight ahead high octane "live trucker" music courtesy of the Kid and Twisted Brown Trucker Band.

There are thirteen songs overall, fourteen if you choose to include the intro to cowboy which is a folksy blues riff from the Kid featuring a tounge in cheek dig at some of his contempories, so at a tick over seventy minutes this is obviously not a full live show but rather various selections from Kid Rock's homestand in 2004 as well as a couple of cuts from a 2000 show also performed in Clarkson, MI.

The setlist is seamless nontheless allthough a full show would not have been unwarrented.

Proceedings kick of with a bang with the balls out rocker Son of Detroit which is full on and gets the crowd up from the get go. With Bawitaba and Cowboy (surprisingly early on in the set for mine) following hot on it's heels there is not a lot of downtime either.

With elements of country, hip-hop, rock, blues and soul there's a bit of something for everyone who likes their music with no frills and no fuss. You can tell that the Kid likes what he does and has a good time doing it.

Most all of the songs that you'd expect are here (with the possible exception of Bulldog) allthough Picture is covered with Gretchen Wilson rather than Sheryl Crow this time around. I guess Ms. Crow was probably chasing Lance Armstrong around the tour de France at the time it was recorded.

The packaging includes various high gloss live shots from onstage during the tour and ends with the Kid's credo.....
"If it looks good, you'll see it;
if it sounds good, you'll hear it;
if it's marketed right, you'll buy it;
but...if it's real, you'll feel it"

.....this is a live disk you will feel.

- Live Trucker (2006)
After a handfull of popular albums, Kid Rock has released his first live album, "Live Trucker." Live Trucker, is about as good as you can do with a single disc live album. Most of Kid Rock's best known originals are on here. Live trucker contains good performances of songs such as: Bawitdaba, Cowboy, Picture, American Bad A$$, M Fer Quite Like Me, and Only God Knows Why. Hardcore Kid Rocks fans will definitely want to purchase Live Trucker. Casual fans, why don't want to buy the individual albums may also want to pick up Live Trucker.

- Best Live Album EVER!
God, I love this CD. It has not left my CD changer. I have not listeded to anything else in days. My eardrums are beginning to hurt, but I do not care. This is one of the best CDs I have ever purchased. Thank you Kid Rock for putting out such an OUTSTANDING collection of live rock music. You and the TBT Band are truely talented musicians that can not be matched by anyone. It's nice to know that someone is still cranking out good rock and roll. I am looking forward to the studio album!

- Awesome Live CD
Live Trucker epitomizes what the live Kid Rock show is all about. The only way it would have been better is if it would have been 2 CDs or perhaps if it would have included a DVD. The band sounds great, the Kid is in awesome form, & it includes many of his best songs. I so respect that someone will put out a solid live CD with musicians who actually play their instruments. What a concept. I highly recommend this album. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait for his next studio album.

- OUTSTANDING
The negative first...For most Kid Rock fans, we all have a list of covers he does so well LIVE that should have been on this LIVE CD like, Fortunate Son, or some Aerosmith, Bob Seger or Marshall Tucker classic, but this is just not the case.... NO BIG DEAL!!!!!!!!

The positive...This album is FANTASTIC!!! and lets face it, most of his best stuff is here with that live twist only KID can put into each song.
"Devil Without A Cause" sounds GREAT!!! How about "Picture", I never liked it but what makes it so good is Gretchen Wilson helping him out. As for the best track, I think "Mother F Quite Like Me" or "Cowboy" are top contenders. On every tune, K-ROCK is giving you his heart and soul. The only missing link is "Wasting Time" which I think is his best song and can't understand why he left it out.

This is KID ROCK's "LIVE BULLET" compare the album covers. KID always wanted to do something similar to Seger's "LIVE BULLET" and as you may know is his favorite album. So could the set be better, DEFINITELY, could he have done some classic rap, country or Rock n Roll, YES... Lets live with what we have because we all know KID ROCK LIVE or in the studio is the best in the biz.... One more point, buy this, don't burn it, the picture sleeve in book form with the CD is OUTSTANDING!!!!
