- a rare gemI've been listenning to this album on record ever since I was a kid, and I've always loved it. The story of the character Gideon Tanner is told through the music and the music is great. "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer" is here, and I believe this is where it first appeared. Other good selections include "Call Me Up (The Phone Is In The Cradle)" and my favorite, "The Buckeroos". I just recently found this on CD and while it was costly, it was worth the money for this rare gem. I would have paid much more if necessary. If you have this on LP or cassette and want to upgrade to CD, scour the net and maybe you'll get lucky. Beware of fakes, my copy is completely legitimate. If you haven't ever heard it, find it used on cassette or LP if you can to give it a listen.

- MOST RECOMMENDEDProbably the best concept album ever made by Mr.Rogers. Most recommended, and hard to find album. Much more recommended than "the Gambler"

- Kenny Rogers - GideonThis is one of the best Kenny Rogers albums around. I bought this on 8-track many years ago and have been trying to find it on cd ever since. Every song is a hit. I would play this over and over and never tire of the songs.

- My favourite Kenny Rogers albumIt's a fantastic album. Simply fantastic. Kennys voice never sounded better and he seems at home in the "western" setting. I haven't been able to find it on CD - and my tape is soon worn out. :-(

- Gideon - Kenny's best concept album! This is Kenny's absolute best concept album, hands down! I once had this title on an 8-track cartridge tape, and completely wore it out from repeated and constant playback so many times. Thank heavens I recently found it on CD. However, it was quite costly, but it was more than well worth it. I love all of Kenny Rogers' songs, but the "Gideon" album is my favorite of his albums. I'd like to start a blog or website about KR's music, and this album particularly! I just never tire of listening to the whole album. Kenny's music, to me, is more than just music. This record is a way of life!
