All That You Could Be |
Análisis (en inglés) - Amazon.com :
You've certainly got to hand it to Kenny Rogers--the guy is irrepressible. After bottoming out as a country-rocker in the First Edition in the 1960s, he soon bounced back as a country-flavored pop crooner in a Nashville leisure-suit disguise in the late 1970s. Then he proceeded to dramatically reinvent himself as one of the most popular easy-listening pop icons of the 1980s. And now that Nashville is once again putting heavy emphasis on the "pop" in pop-country, Rogers, now in his early 60s, has bounced back yet again with a No. 1 country hit, "Buy Me a Rose," from 1999's platinum album, She Rides Wild Horses. There You Go Again, Rogers's 59th album, seems destined to keep his latest comeback in high gear. It's an unremarkable but warmly engaging collection that mixes a few amiable, laid-back country tunes ("Homeland" and the shuffle "Blue Train") with a slew of the cushy piano-framed soft-pop ballads ("Crazy Me," "I Wish I Could Say That," and the lovely "Until Forever's Gone") for which he's best known. Though Rogers's voice is expressive, he knows its limitations as well as anybody. Thus he's surrounded himself with a star-studded host of guest duet partners and harmony singers such as Alison Krauss, Brad Paisley, Steve Wariner, and Suzy Bogguss. The result is nothing fancy or groundbreaking--it's just Kenny Rogers, the smooth king of the country-pop middle ground, doing what he's always done best, with poise, artistry, and assurance. --Bob Allen Análisis de usuario (en inglés) - 2000-10-14
- Kenny Rogers Knows What We LikeThis new album,"There You Go Again", gives the Kenny Rogers fan more of what he does best. Great ballads, love songs, and story songs. Guest artists add beautiful harmony to most cuts, but what a nice surprise to hear the powerful twang of guitarist Duane Eddy on "I Won't Forget". That sound just jumped out of the speakers, and Kenny sings with that familiar growl just enough to remind us of those days back when...We won't forget, either.

- One Of The BestI have about 60 of Kenny Rogers CDs, and, this is one I keep in the smaller tower holder, because it gets played so much. If you are in love, or were, this is a must have.

- one of his bestKenny rogers last album, is probably one of the best if not the best album he has ever done. Excluding his great hits albums. IT stays in line with what Country music is and still gives you that broad ness we have come to love from Kenny this is espcially evedient in his newwest single HE Will/ She Knows. I strongly recomend this album to anyone who enjoyed his early albums and "She rides wild horses".

- Kenny does it again with one misstep!Hey there! Just wanted to say Kenny has produced another fabulous album! Every song is excellent with one exception. "He Will, She Knows", also his 1st single is horrible!!! I have no idea why someone so smart chose that song as a single! Any other song on the CD would have fit much better! Oh well=) I still give it an A!!!!

- After nearly 60 albums, Kenny is still a favorite!!!The first thing you'll notice when you first put this CD in, is that Kenny's voice is just as inviting as it always has been. It's like sitting down with an old friend that you haven't seen in a while. I believe that the song selection on this new album is better (overall) than "She Rides Wild Horses", though there may not be a really big hit coming from the new one. There isn't as many love ballads as was on "Across My Heart" and this album is more country, unlike "Across My Heart" which was country-less. The musical instruments really come through on this one, and compliment Kenny's voice really well. And the duet with Linda Davis on "When We Make Love" is great, I'm not sure if I've heard of her before, but I will looking for her album. There may not be a "The Greatest" or "The Gambler" on this CD, but there are quite a few songs that I love. This is a GREAT CD for any Kenny Rogers fan!!!
