Kelly Brianne Clarkson (born April 24, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter, and occasional actress. Clarkson recorded her debut album with RCA Records after she won the highly-publicized first season of the television series American Idol in 2002. Clarkson was originally marketed as a pop musician before transitioning onto a more rock approach. Her debut album, Thankful, debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 selling almost 300,000 copies, selling 1 million copies in the first 6 weeks, and 2.7 million to date in the US. |

Selling nearly 43,000 copies put it at #29 on SoundScan's Current Digital Tracks chart and poushed its release-to-date total past the 600,000 mark. Downloads of Adam Lambert's Time for Miracles fell a hefty 74 percent in its second week.

Kelly Clarkson has added three South African dates to her 2010 world tour. The March shows will take place in Johannesburg (March 12), Durban (March 14) and Cape Town (March 17). Kelly currently also has 2010 dates scheduled for England, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Denmark, New Zealand and Australia.
