Análisis (en inglés) - Amazon.com :
When I first heard "I Want Her" from this 1987 recording, I dropped what I was doing and ran to a record store. The single is the prototype for what Teddy Riley, who did the drum and keyboard programming on the song, would call "New Jack Swing." It has hip-hop's rhythmic chatter and R&B's fierce uptempo drive. Although Riley contributes to most of the songs on this disc, Sweat has a different direction in mind. He aspires to be--and with future releases became--the king of the slow jam. His warm, deep tenor and his intelligently crafted songs set the standard for the pre-Maxwellian loverman. --Martin Johnson Análisis de usuario (en inglés) - 2002-08-18
- The One That Started it All.This is the debut album of Keith Sweat, which not only helped introduce the genre New Jack Swing, but it also made him a veritable fixture in r&b. Nobody will ever give Sweat points for vocal range, but he makes the very best of what he has, and it serves these tracks well. The opener, "Something Just Ain't Right," is one of his most underrated songs, and it's just as good as any of his more popular singles, including his Top Ten smash, the New Jack flavored "I Want Her." He also does a formidable cover of "In the Rain," and the title track, a duet with Jacci McGhee, is a ballad still good enough to give me goose pimples. Always consistent and rarely giving into trends, Keith Sweat is the Energizer battery of r&b: he takes a licking, but he still keeps on ticking.

- Best of the BestI have been a fan of Keith Sweat since I was 12 years old and now I am 21. This is his best album to me. My favorite song is right or wrong way. Everytime I hear it on the radio I scream. This is a very good album to buy. Keith Sweat is the only man that can touch my heart through his music. And I love him to death.

- Keith Sweat got it right the first time, best album! The whole album is butter. A lot of babies were probably made off of this. The difference between Make it last Forever and the rest of Keith career is that he macking on this album. The rest of his career he resorted to straight begging to get the cooch. Personal favorites are every song for real. This is an R&B slow jam standard.

- I wish Make It Last Forever, would last forever @}->---Make It Last Forever is probably my second favourite R 'n B song ever (after My My My). It is such a beautiful song and so is this entire album. I've been a fan of Keith's from the beginning and I still go back to this. I Want Her is probably the next best cut on the album, but in reality - it's all good. This is the King of New Jack and nobody does it better than Keith. Make It Last Forever should be in every r'n b fan's collection. I had to go and re-buy this on cd because the cassette I had was wearing thin because after each time Make It Last Forever finished, I'd keep winding it back. I highly recommend this cd. Amazing.

- a very good cdBack in the late 80s, i was checking out this tape called "keith sweat: make it last forever", and it sounded pretty good. keith sweat lays down some smooth senous tracks on here and when i first heard this cd, i was impressed. all the songs are good. "Something just aint right" brings back memories of me when i was in high school, "right and a wrong way" is some slow song. if you was in high school around 87 or 88, this was the slow song you could slow dance with your girl at your prom. and the title song "make it last forever" a christmas light, skating rink, bell ringing song is good too. i heard that song back in 87 at the skating rink and that's what made me get the tape ( i now have the cd ) i like these beats because they're strong. i think this is the best cd he ever made. "tell me its me you want" is my least favorite song cuz he sounds sorta diffrent and his voice isnt as strong. "in the rain" is a very good slow song. listening to this song made me like that song better than the original. "i want her" is a ok song, but it's not so good. "how deep is your love" is a freakish, hornish sounding song, very good. the beat is so good and so strong, it makes donnell jones look weak. keith sweat, in my opinion is a very good singer. i dont have all his other cds, i just only have this one. i think the ones he made afterwords werent as good as "make it last for ever" i give this cd two thumbs up. good job, keith!
