| The Jenny Craig spokeswoman talks about her upcoming Lifetime TV movie and about growing up as a teen star in Hollywood. Valerie Bertinelli is starring in a movie that isn't very far removed from her own life. The former teen star of "One Day at a Time," who famously dated, married and divorced rock star Eddie Van Halen, plays the aunt of a superstar teen actress (played by multi-platinum recording artist Joanna "JoJo" Levesque) in Lifetime TV's "True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet," premiering Saturday, August 9 at 9 p.m. "Here's this beautiful young starlet, who drinks too much and ends up in rehab," Valerie explains the story. Then she jokes, "That's so unusual. Where did that come from?" Valerie places some of the blame for today's teen stars being out of control on their parents. She recalls that she had a curfew, was not allowed to wear makeup -- except on the set -- until she was 16 years old, and she had to observe all the normal boundaries that children should have at that age. |
