- Great Music & Nice Naratives From Johnny!!!

Great classic Gospels songs, with some found only this release! In between tunes, Johnny takes you on a narrated tour of Israel's holy sites. Standout songs for me would be Fourth Man In the Fire & Daddy Sang Bass. Great backup vocals by the Statler Bros with Carl Perkins on guitar.

This is a really fun listen if you can get it at a reasonable price!

- Classic not to be missed!

My Mom and Dad got this album right as it came out new, through a record club. I grew up listening to this album, and as I grew older, the songs became more and more precious. The sincerity of Johnny and June's faith, and their simple appreciation shines through the narratives. One review I read said they sound "wooden", and June "sedated", however I feel like what I hear coming from them is genuine awe as they travel the path of Jesus from birth to crucifixion. While I have no doubt that June may have been on medication, I believe that what is being heard on the album is the silence, and natural pauses as they process this spiritual journey they are seeing for the first time, and allowing the impact that it is having on them to be recorded for us. My favorite songs are "He turned the water into wine", and "The fourth man". This album is a must for any Johnny Cash fan, and a lasting testament to their faith, and their commitment to share it.

- God is not Dead

I first got my hands on this treasure as used vinyl back in the '80s. The original album cover features one of those faux 3D lenticular photographs. It shows the man in black, looking like a cardboard cutout propped up in front of a mosque. Highlights of the record include a narrative, "My Wife June At Sea of Galilee," in which June sounds heavily sedated, and "God Is Not Dead," which deserves a sub-title, "But He Must Surely Be Feeling Ill." The songs and narratives of "Holy Land" are so wooden as to seem sarcastic. No collection is complete without this travelogue from Israel.
