John Fogerty (born John Cameron Fogerty, on 28 May 1945 in Berkeley, California) is an American singer and songwriter, best known for his time with the roots rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival. Fogerty’s rise to fame came in 1968, when John, together with his brother Tom, Stu Cook and Doug Clifford, released their first hit song “Susie Q”, thus launching their band CCR to stardom. While in Creedence, John Fogerty proved to be not only a great vocalist, but a capable songwriter and guitarist. CCR became one of the most popular rock bands of that time.
