- Eric Dolphy w/ Coltrane - AMAZINGBuy this now. Just do it. This is the best 'Trane disc I have purchased in years. Eric Dolphy plays a flute solo on 'Favorite Things' which alone is worth double the price of the absurdly affordable 2 cd set. This rules. Not to mention a incredible full cycle of 'Love Supreme' WITH ERIC DOLPHY. this rules.

- Great long versions of classic songsThis disc has live versions of Love Supreme and Impressions on one disc, Mr. P.C., Miles Mode (Red Planet), Favorite Things (spelled Favourite things heh heh), and Body and Soul on the other. Although lineup is not stated in notes, sounds like the McCoy-Jones-Chambers lineup. Impressions begins with a crushing 11 minute bass solo. Most tracks sound pre-Dolphy; Coltrane plays 'out' but not like his post-Dolphy recordings. Disc 2 is not as good of a recording but contains an amazing 20 minute 'Favorite Things' which is not to be missed. on the 'Body and Soul' cut, John is playing alot of Sonny Rollins licks. Both CD's show a very modal style, even in harmonically active tunes.

- Very inexpensive for 2CD setThe First Disc is very likely the same at Live in Antibes 1965 does anyone know where the 2nd disc performances are from? Anything by Coltrane is a five star performance as far as I am concerned.
