Description :
Brand new studio album including a remix of "Do It Well" featuring Ludacris.Review - Amazon.com :
It would take a pretty good argument to deny that Jennifer Lopez is brave--nobody transitions from dance to film to music as boldly or as fluidly--but bravery doesn't factor much into her new disc, despite the title. And that's a good thing. On Brave, JLo busts out a batch of songs that don't challenge pop-appreciative ears--there's no cross-genre experimenting, no political point-making, and no self-serving, overblown ballads. In their place are well turned-out hooks (see "Mile in These Shoes," a song apt to cause ankle injuries in untold numbers of Jimmy Choo owners), bright production ("Hold It Don't Drop It" samples Tavares's groovealicious "It Only Takes a Minute"), and a voice very much in the mood to have a good time. "Stay Together," the opener, sets a happy, beat-heavy tone that holds up all album long--here's Jenny reminding the masses that monogamy need not be a buzz kill: "Stay together, it's the new break-up/Stay together, it's the new trend," she trills, and you believe her. Brave may not be the most groundbreaking record ever to climb the pop charts, but it's enough to convince you JLo's discs don't stint on substance. And it'll raise your pulse, too. --Tammy La GorceCustomer review - 2007-11-04
- Going, Going, Gone : The Rapid Descent of J.Lo
Listening to Lopez now, its amazing that she's even had a musical career for so long. Unlike many reviewers, I actually own this album on my Ipod, so can write a review for the music itself, instead of mindlessly bashing this poor woman.
That said, the lead track alone made me cringe : "Stay Together". In this track, Lopez inexplicably assures us, like some matronly Dominican aunt, that these days 'staying together' is the 'in' thing, and breaking up is not. You must hear the actual lyrics. Admittedly, I was mortified that someone could actually write something so weak and insipid, but to have the nerve to record it makes me wonder what happened to Lopez. At least at one point she had the sense to make good tunes - now, even this quality is missing.
Lead single "Do it well" sounded good upon first listen when I first heard it. Its like a sunny mix between early Gloria Estefan and some Thalia thrown in, but make no mistake, this is perhaps the only song on the CD worth singing along to.
I hear people saying that the last song on the album is the best as its simply 'intoxicating' and 'bewitching'. I don't think they've been listening to this album. At best this is a disgusting amalgamation of everything that's wrong with the Latin pop genre, multiplied by five. At least Ricky Martin knew when to quit. Lopez on the other hand has sunk to releasing very mediocre music - I wonder who would really buy this.
Heres the thing - pop music can be gloriously bad, but it should always be fun. It doesn't have to inspire you, but it should be memorable for what its worth, or at least enjoyably disposable. This album is none of these things, and the bloated picture of Jennifer's picture on the back cover is even more bewildering. This is supposed to be sexy? I just do not get the entire creative process that supposedly went into making this sad record, and everyone associated should quit while they're ahead. Give me my Jennifer Love Hewitt albums anyday.

- Dance music?I think this album sucks. Her voice makes people want to commit suicide. I think she should stop singing and leave that to her husband. Why is this woman still employed...I do not get it.

- HUGE WARNING HERE !!!!!!I was hoping that this would finally be the one.........the one that would compare to "waiting for tonight".....
Wrong.....it's the nail in Jennifer's Castle Hill coffin.....
Garbage.....pure garbage..
As usual, it sounds like she's making up the words as she goes along...NO inspiration or creativity here.......even the pics are knockoffs!!
So sad.....
Now I don't know what to do with it because I will NEVER listen to it again....I don't think I could even sell it for .50 at a bodega in Castle Hill !!! And it would cost me $4 to get there and back !!!
She better just settle in and be a wife and Mother for Marc Anthony......her talent is non-existent.....she couldn't even tour on her own....
She even ruined Ben Affleck once she got a hold of his career!!
One very big word for J-No talent....
BOOTLEG !!!!

- Shoulda Coulda Woulda not bought this album!I put this album in my CD player thinking. This is JLO. I am not expecting spectacular vocals but I am expecting some really good beats. NADA. The lyrics are so wack. The music is mediocre at best. JLO was on TRL saying that this is a dance album. NOT. I am not a JLO hater. I have all of her previous albums, which is why I didn't hesitate to pick up this one. It has one redeeming quality, the single "Do it Well". The Britney Spears album knocks this one out of the park if you want to listen to a dance album. JLO's Brave is not it.

- 15 minutes & 59 seconds... ...time's running out for J-Ho..., Picante-Pants is back with a brand-new record and this one is HOT, HOT, HOT!!! Jenny plans to thank a box of Nair and a bottle of bleach for making this CD possible.
You know, I really can't stand this woman. Is it still politically incorrect to speak your mind? I don't care. I am proud to be a citizen of the best country in the world and I will speak my mind if I want to. But really, I don't hate her because she's a mean (rhymes with) witch. And I don't hate her because she spits on everyone who isn't rich and famous. And I don't hate her because her legs are looser than O.J. after being tried for double-homicide. I just don't understand how someone like this can keep making music because she has zero talent. As usual, on her latest CD she's way too eager to be popular. And she has nothing to say. This excrement-on-a-CD is horrific, it actually makes my ears bleed. To simply call it bad would be a huge understatement. It's so poor, it's Gigli-Bad. I hope she disappears as fast as she came. Maybe we'll all get lucky and someone will throw a bucket of water on her. Oh but don't worry Jenn-Jenn, I'm sure there'll always be a spot for your fat bee-hind, on Page 6, right below Brit!
BTW, has anyone seen Jen lately? Just because she is having a baby does not mean she should look like a pig (or look any more like a pig than she normally does.)
