Análisis (en inglés) - Amazon.com :
On The Life and Times of S. Carter, Jay-Z's century-closing guaranteed-platinum album, he compares his hit-making prowess to that of Michael Jackson--the unspoken difference being that Jigga appears to be far from wearing out his commercial welcome. For good reason, too; not only is the Roc-A-Fella king maker one prolific rapper and writer, his output is of high enough quality to keep heads ringin'. While there's no single classic on the order of "Hard Knock Life" here, collaborations with Dr. Dre (the truly defiant "Watch Me"), Juvenile ("Snoopy Track"), and UGK ("Big Pimpin'") argue well for Jay-Z's continued vitality. Further proof may lie in the fact that, faced with mass bootlegging weeks before the CD's release, the Z-man added several tracks, effectively revising it at the last minute. --Rickey Wright

Jay Z's new album has already been released like two weeks ago here in Europe and I bought it without even listening to it. When I first put it in my stereo I thought that it was horrible, but after all I was totally wrong. The songs get better the more you listen to them and after a while you just can't stop to sing along and bump your head to this cd. I think Jay Z did a good job on this one (as on all of his Cd's) and especially "Big Pimpin" and "Come and Get Me" are really cool songs. Once again Jay Z is reloaded.

- Jay Z comes through
There was a lot of hype surrounding the release of the Jay-hovah's new album, and rightfully so considering that he is one of the greatest lyricists out there. His album does not disappoint. It is very much like his other albums where the beats and background music are at times awful, but Jay-Z lyrics and style come through and make the song. At times one gets the impression that Jay-Z could rap without a beat and the song would still make you bob your head. Jay-Z is that good. Another great thing about the album is the lack of silly and useless interludes that break up the flow of the music (ala Puff Daddy, Dr. Dre, or almost anyone else). It was refreshing to have a continuous flow of 15 or so songs (plus "hidden" bonus tracks) without comedic interruption. The Jay-hovah is all business. One criticism I have of the album is the lack of faster paced songs that would facilitate dancing or fast driving. While Jay-Z's rap might increase in speed, the beat stays the same. Overall, the album eclipses any of the other hip-hop albums that have been released this year despite the forgettable beats.

- Good News! "Anything"<--- we all love this song
I was listening to Beanie Sigel, The Truth, his new album and I found out that ANYTHINg is song #14 on Beanie Mac's new album. that is really disapointing to all of us who bought Jay-Z's new album for the song ANYTHING, unless you like beanie sigel.

- Volume III is Number 1.......
What can you say about the Unoffical king of New York...except he is HOT! I anxiously awaited his latest release and it did not disappoint. "So Ghetto", is perhaps the best Jay-Z song I've heard. The beat keeps you going and his lyrics surpass anyone in the rapp game right now. Jay doesn't overload you with voilence, obscenities, or the hard-core style. His third album brings intricant lyrics and in-depth looks into the "life and times" of the hip-hop society. Like he says in "Dope Man", he is trying to be the ghetto spokesman and he is doing a great time. His album does lack in dance beats, but if your a true fan of hip-hop and lyricists you'll be sure to enjoy Volume III.

- What were they (Jay-Z, his producers, his label) thinking?
I'm a huge fan of Jay-Z and I got all Jay-Z's CD's and the only reason I bought this CD is I like "Do It Again, "Anything," "Is That Yo B****" featuring Twista and Missy Elliott, and "Things That U Do," but "Anything" and get this, "Is That Yo B****" were omitted from this CD...why? Those songs would've maybe saved this weak CD, but they still omitted them! They had the nerve to put "PLUS HIDDEN BONUS TRACKS" on the back cover, but what it doesn't tell you is that the two hidden tracks, Jigga My N**** and Girl's Best Friend are on the same track as the horrible Hova Song Outro so you will have to listen to the Hova Song Outro, then wait about one minute for "Jigga My N****" to come on! What were they thinking? Don't let the stellar producers and artists fool you, i.e., Dr. Dre, Mariah Carey, Juvenile, Timbaland...they couldn't even save this album!
