If only I could persuade you of how wonderful this CD is, how happy I would be. Do you need to understand Spanish to enjoy it? Well, Serrano's poetry is enchanting, lyrical, compassionate, inspired, funny, sad. This is a very loose translation of part of the lyrics to "Reina del Super:"

He is a delightful singer in the tradition of European troubadours which includes Paolo Conte, Jacques Brel and even Ian Dury, with an intensely passionate, husky voice that mesmerizes and evokes a mass of feelings. The arrangements and the melodies are shimmeringly beautiful.

Buy this CD, even if you are not Spanish-speaking, for the sophisticted pleasure of the music. If you can, get a friend to translate the lyrics for you, or better still, learn some Spanish yourself, and you will never regret it!

Ismael Serrano por mucho tiempo ha sido uno de mis cantautores más admirado. Este álbum contiene 14 joyas del maestro Serrano que no deben faltar en tu colección. Me permito recomendar "Fragilidad" y "Ya nada es lo que era", dos canciones para reflexionar y disfrutar al máximo.

Good music, very similar to Joan Manuel Serrats lyrics and melodies. If you like Serrat you will like Ismael Serrano. Musical arrangements are great.

Escuché la canción "Sucede que a Veces" en la TV y me llamó la atención su cadencia, lírica y suave armonía. Además, aunque no conozco más material de este artista, se nota bastante camino recorrido. Su acento y timbre, más la naturaleza descriptiva de la canción, me recordó mucho a Joan Manuel Serrat. Estoy interesado en escuchar más temas para hacerme una buena opinión sobre Serrano. La canción me pareció muy buena.
