- Disc two saves album
Live at Donington is a twenty track, double disc replica of the limited edition vinyl collection. It has some great songs such as Iron Maiden, Run to the Hills, The Number of the Beast,Fear of the Dark, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Heaven Can Wait, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Tailgunner, and Running Free. I'd normally give this four stars at max. because its hard to hear Bruce singing among the wailing guitars, but the multimedia section is really cool. It has ful length vidoes of, Afraid to Shoot Strangers, Iron Maiden, Hallowed Be Thy Name, and Heaven Can Wait. It then has three other videos that cover excerpts from Run to the Hills, Number of the Beast, and Be Quick or Be Dead. If you don't have the requirements for the viewing the multimedia than you might want to buy this at your own risk

- One of the best Heavy Metal LIVE album ever!
"Live at Donnington" is one of the most greatest live album in Metal History. The sound is perfect and the whole atmosphere places you between the fans in the frontline! Raw power!!!
A superb performance by Iron Maiden with exceptional tracks from their greatest period that they don't use to play anymore.
"Live at Donnington" was first released as bootleg but soon became classic and the band was actually forced to officially release the album!

Rock, Metal (and not only) fans should NOT miss it! Top quality!

- Live and Honest
Iron Maiden Live at Donington is a monumental recording of a monumental show. this show has all the rawness and continuity that 'Live After Death' lacks, meaning you get the entire show with no overdubs or cuts. this is Maiden's most honest recording ever. all the other live albums are edited to create a 'nicer' sound, but not this one. this 100% live and its got a great sound quality to it. Also it includes a guest appearence by former guitarrist Adrian Smith on the last song, Running Free, this being the very first time the current lineup played together.
I really recomend this album, it a great catalogue from Maiden's oldest songs (Iron Maiden, Running Free etc.) up to the Fear of the Dark album.
This CD contains an enhanced multimedia part with videos, photos, images and other nice additions.

get this album!

- Maiden in top form to a home crowd
Yep, this is Maiden at their best. Though by this time they'd released a few dud studio albums this band were still one of the flagships of metal, their heritage not totally destroyed (they'd do that from here on in themselves).

In short, the first disc is utterly vital stuff. The second disc isn't so flash and the formula starts to wear a little thin. I cannot bring myself to point out too many of the awesome tracks on disc one but Wrathchild and Number of the Beast are so great that they have to merit a mention.

Bruce is in fine voice, the band rip and the English crowd, at a Monsters of Rock gig no less, really adds to the atmosphere. As an aside to this review - the video of this gig ain't half bad either.

The only bad points would be for those punters who don't like live albums or who have some of Maidens other live discs. And yes Steve Harris' bass sound running roughshod over everything is a little grating on some of the tracks.

Any Maiden fan should buy this album. Just stop reading this review and place your darn order!

- Another live album from maiden...
This album is one of many live albums from Iron Maiden, personally I think they are a great live band, and Im sure many people agree and thats why they have put so many live records on the market. This one in particular is not their best, the sound is not good, Bruce doestn sound as good as he really is and the songs they play are the ones they always play live. The interactive section is cool, and I would have to agree with the other reviewer that this is what saves this album. If you only get the record for the music, then its not worth it, at least the artwork is great, it comes with many pictures and also with the lyrics, but in the end not Maidens best work, they shouldnt have release this one.
