- I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SONG!!!!I happened upon the video about two weeks on VH 1 Soul...I sat there awe struck, immediately getting into the groove and message of the song. India.Arie is a special artist. I've got both of her other CD's and while I enjoy them, nothing on them grabbed my attention like this song did. She's so good, what she does is effortless. I don't usually buy a CD anymore right off, but when this one drops in June, I will be buying it the first day. I'm 46, old school to the bone and I get tired sometimes with a lot of the music of today. Thanks to India.Arie and other artists like her (Erykah, Jill, Musiq, Kem, the Roots, Common, Kanye) I can at least be "kinda hip to my daughters."

- feeling this cutIndia Arie for me has been a Artist that I like some of her stuff&then there are other tracks that just never jump off for me,but this cut is banging.I dig the message big time&it speaks to people judging people by there hair&thinking without knowing what the person is about. this song is very timely&speaks directly on a very important point.really good track.

- Welcome Back From India!I'm Not My Hair is the song most hot I've ever heard off any India material about self respect and lovin' not how looks are but how's inside. Lovin' it so hard can't get enough must hear.

- Please Release The Album! She is Steveie Wonder for the next generation. I can't praise India.Arie or her music enough. She is so dynamic, melodic and pure. With today's perponderance of trash talking lyrics and negativity in music, she reminds us of the beauty that can be found within ourselves and in the world around us. Each song is a capsule of beauty waiting to be released to help us find our way.

- Beautiful, Introspective SongI love India Arie as an artist, and truly, I admire her as a woman... she's so Earthy, I love earthy people. I can't even explain to you what I mean by earthy... just genuine, down to earth, sincere, unique, proud, embrassive of her skin... I just adore her spirit.. Sometimes I think it's silly when people say they love an artist or talk about how great the person is, when truly we don't KNOW these people... Instead we get to know what they present to us! There is a big difference. However, with India Arie... I must say out of all the artists, she is the only one I would actually put my money on being truly, truly sincerely exactly who I get the feeling she is... and that's just a true-to-soul down to earth and sincere person... No gimmicks, no games, no image, no nothing... And I know many other artists are as well, but again... she's the one I'd put my money on... This song, however, moving along... is so touching. Did she really have cancer? That's what it says in the song. Well, it doesn't matter. The song is deep, on many levels... and me, being natural, having an afro one day.. twists the next day.. then braided up into a mohawk if I feel like it.. braided at the top, afro in the back.. whatever I feel.. and I love the diversity in my style and the different things and vibes I can embrace.. some people ask me "When are u going to lock your hair?" or "What ARE you doing with it?" stuff like that, and hair is just a really big deal... and that's no so bad, because I love my hair... but like India says, I am NOT my Hair. Its crazy how we bond with our scalp... our strands.. and how it becomes an emotional part of our existance.. it's beautiful and it's sad at the same time... I love the song and I think it's a beautiful testiment... I'm ashamed to say that I don't have her 2nd CD, but I vow to purchase it :o)
