- Great rock and roll...There are always die-hard, hardcore fans, who usually prefer the first offerings of an artist, and then, when commercial success ensues, write everything else off as a sell out. Yes, this is a commercial album. Commercial meaning that it is well-written, well-conceived, well-produced. With crystal clear sound that will make your speakers pop. I played this CD at parties when it came out, and always had people asking me what it was and where they could buy it. I'd say 8 of the 10 songs are keepers; from rockers like "Baby It Can't Fail" to a simple teenage love song like "Shades", which is almost perfect in its cadence... You gave me a present The paper was blue and green I unwrapped it with pleasure These are the best shades I've ever seen You can be my girlfriend Forever and a day I never thought I was worth much Or that anyone would treat me this way [Chorus] I'm not The kind of guy Who dresses like a king And a really fine pair of shades Means everything And the light that blinds my eyes Shines from you It makes me come in the night It makes me swim with delight I like this pain I like this mirror I like these shades I could have had a problem I might have never followed through The other guys are in trouble They wouldn't listen to a girl like you These shades say something I'll bet they cost a lot I hope I don't break 'em I hope we don't break up

- Iggy Goes 80s!This isn't a punk album, so some of Iggy's fans will be disappointed in this CD. However, it's a great 80s rock CD, featuring some of the Popster's best vocal work. Very upbeat, very electronic, very 80s.

- Cotton "Candy"......but still goodIt's funny how people trash this album and yet praise Iggy's two best albums "The Idiot" & " Lust for Life". Without a doubt those two ARE his best and yet all three albums were produced by the one and only David Bowie.
Yes it is true that this album is very 80's sounding and that seems to be a scarlett letter for anything creative these days. The album is nowhere near as bad as some would have you believe, in fact the songs are fun and with S. Jones (ex- Sex Pistol) on some them it does rock. I have things in my VERY large collection of music and movies that I consider "guilty pleasures". I actually enjoy the chessiness of these albums or movies, and while I would not rank this among his best , it is not the hell many depict it to be.
Many of the people who have given this album such a poor review are simply too full of themselves. These are the people, who like an aristocrat looking down his nose at a common man, think they are too good to enjoy some simple POP music (pun intended). Lighten up fellas! Nobody is going to think less of you for enjoying something popular or catchy and if they do? Well F...em!! Life is far too short to take so seriously. I am now in my mid forties and if I've learned anything it is that I don't care what others think of me.
For those of you thinking about this album because you heard "Real Wild Child" or "Cry for Love" you will not be diappointed, as most of the album is in this style. I would however suggest that you also try out IDIOT & LUST for better Iggy music,or The Stooges if you enjoy punk music. If not well you too should consider expanding your listening range.
Finally I gave this album five stars not because I think it worthy of five, but because I think it deserves better than the 1 that others gave it. So I hope to cancel out some of the negative pounding it is taking.

- Iggy's Umpteenth Comeback Is A Great AlbumSo what do you do when you're an aging rock icon with a low commercial profile who hasn't made a record in a few years? Well, if that describes a certain Mr. Iggy Pop, you get one of the best albums of the 1980's, Iggy's Gold-selling collection of great tunes that still kept his old sound intact and managed to win him new fans. "Blah Blah Blah" was a surprise comeback for the Igster. It sold even more copies than 1977's "The Idiot," and featured a Top Ten radio hit with "Real Wild Child." The songs are all great, and with his old buddy David Bowie producing, it recreates the great sound and feel of Iggy's classic late 1970's solo work. A fine album all around.

- Finally reissued--but lacking bonus tracks!I was anticipating this release, hoping it would have the 12" single versions of the hits "Cry for Love" and "Real Wild Child" as bonus tracks. No such luck. BUMMER. Missed opportunity to preserve 2 more 12" remixes on CD...HOWEVER, get the very limited edition Iggy Pop Complete A&M Recordings boxed set and the first CD is the entire Blah Blah Blah CD WITH the bonus tracks, including the 12" versions of Cry for Love, Real Wild Child, plus two 12" versions I didn't know existed: the awesome Fire Girl and Baby it Can't Fall.
