Herbie Hancock is "hittin' it" on this one! As a matter of fact, it may very well catch you by surprise! The cut titled "Gentle Thoughts" and "Actual Proof" are full of the funk from the 70's sound that will make you really sweat! The other cut which I truly enjoy is "Peacocks" which I believe was featured in the movie "Round Midnight." This one is an awesomely moving tune which features the avante-garde side of a piano man whose genius may be oftentimes overlooked as to the fact that he is not among those within the older genre of traditional jazz, yet he plays with the style and verve of someone who could have been around in a much earlier time period. And of course we mustn't forget "Maiden Voyage" (though this is a version not often heard) which is the final cut to complete the set. Get this album and you won't be disappointed, as Hancock is truly the peacock in his moment of glory filled with cuts on an album which should be considered a jazz classic in its own rite.

and Herbie Hancock shows alot of Depth on this Collection.Funk,Jazz,Pop,etc...I get lost sometimes with all the sets I have on Him.His Keyboard Playing has changed the Game He had a way of capturing so much but all the whole maintaing His Own Direction.Enjoy.
