Green Day es una banda estadounidense de punk rock, originaria de Berkeley, California. Green Day’s long-awaited and highly anticipated eighth studio album 21st Century Breakdown will be released worldwide by Reprise Records on Friday 15 May. The album is the trio’s first since the phenomenally successful American Idiot album that sold over 12 million copies, debuted at #1 on both sides of the Atlantic and earned the band two Grammy Awards. The band have also announced a new UK tour which will include two dates at LG Arena, Birmingham on Tuesday 27 and Wednesday 28 October 2009.
The band commenced work on 21st Century Breakdown early in 2006 and subsequently enlisted the expertise of legendary producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins). The album is divided into three acts – Heroes and Cons, Charlatans and Saints and Horseshoes and Handgrenades – and follows a young couple, Christian and Gloria, through the mess and promise of the century so far. The album’s single, Know Your Enemy, is out now.

Am 5. November 2009 ist es soweit: Zum vierten Mal gehen die MTV Europe Music Awards in Deutschland über die Bühne! Der Countdown läuft für eines der größten und angesehensten Live Musikevents Europas. Keine deutsche Stadt ist so aufregend wie die Hauptstadt Berlin, zumal es 2009 das 20jährige Jubiläum des Mauerfalls zu feiern gibt!

ANTI-SCALPING MEASURES TO BE TAKEN FOR GREEN DAY TOUR
Historically Green Day have a reputation for looking after their fans, and their upcoming tour of Australia and New Zealand is no exception, with the band confirming two special initiatives in conjunction with promoter The Frontier Touring Company to deter ticket scalping for their upcoming shows.
The first initiative calls for a return to the good old days of rock concert lineups where 300 GA standing section tickets will ONLY be available to fans who lineup at designated outlets (for a list of each city’s outlet please refer below*). Each person will be limited to a maximum of 2 tickets each; essentially meaning the first 150 people in line will be guaranteed the hottest tickets in town.
The second initiative applies to all Green Day tickets, whether purchased online, via phone or at outlets. As many popular auction sites do not permit items to be sold unless the seller has the item at time of the auction and/or the buyer receives the physical item within one month of purchase, hard physical tickets will be held back for delivery or collection in early November. Patrons purchasing tickets via internet or phone will be issued with standard confirmation details; those purchased via outlets will be issued with a preliminary receipt as proof of purchase for their tickets only.
If a fan has purchased tickets and subsequently changed their address they will need to ensure they update their details with the relevant ticketing agency before Friday 16 October, 2009.
