| If you're anything like me, this is the time of year when summer has gone from "fun in the sun" to "hellish crucible of unmerciful heat". Most of my time between now and October will be spent in my room, nude, next to my full-blast AC unit, chewing on crushed ice and watching Happy Feet. But seeing as how animated penguins (as adorable and funny as they are) can only keep one entertained for so long, thank the Vh1 programming gods for the new World Series of Pop show/site, which (mandatory corporate schilling aside) is seriously the most addictive time-waster since methamphetamines. Left to my own devices, I could literally sit there for hours, finally putting my previously-useless knowledge of 80's sitcoms to good use. And the best part about it is the Trivia Dome thing, in which you have a chance to actually win cash just for knowing that "Jingling Baby" was an LL Cool J song. If you think I'm just saying this because my bosses are threatening to move Perez into my office if I don't, then take a couple of minutes and poke around on the site for yourselves. It certainly beats hanging out in the inferno outside, and a weekend's worth of practice might be all you need to start winning enough cash to retire and become a permanent answerer of pop culture questions. |
