Review - Amazon.com :
Joining a cadre of similar-sounding and conceptually cloned efforts, Foxy Brown's Chyna Doll takes its place among a field of equally mundane offerings. While Brown has shown some maturation, especially on cuts like the surprisingly personal "My Life," she's still talking about her "ill na na" ("Tramp") or making pretentious bids for big Willie (Wilma?) status ("4-5-6"). Mostly, though, Chyna Doll just sounds like any number of New York-based rap albums, especially with its commercial formula of shuffling high hats, catchy hooks, and recycled funk loops. In the end, Brown's self-exploitive (sexually and racially) cover art is likely to offer more provocative statements than the album itself. --Oliver WangCustomer review - 2005-04-16
- She is just super goodI'm a big Linda Ronstadt fan, always have been. I like nothing better than grabbing some chicken in a biscuit crackers, a bottle of ginger ale and throwing on some Linda Ronstadt to relax after a tough week of throwing garbage at donkeys. Whether it's "You're no good" or her early Stone Ponies stuff a little Linda makes me jovial. I think I've finally found the next Linda Ronstadt and it's this Foxy Brown lady. What a pleasant young lady. She sings great songs that remind of the show tunes of yore. I picture her in a square dancing outfit on a hillside singing these lovely melodies every time I get this disc out. It's theraputic like a bubble bath with the Elmo bubbles that come in the red bottle. Foxy is a girl with great morals and a good head on her shoulders. I have a daughter and if she grows up to be the white Foxy Brown I will have done my job as a parent. Great CD, get it for everyone that you have to buy presents for.

- This chyna doll is not worh collectingFoxy Brown - Chyna Doll (Def Jam, 1998) Foxy sounds too much like Lil' Kim on this album, from her "whoas" to her higher-pitched voice to her flow. Her lyrics and songs are very subpar compared to her previous album, Ill Na Na. Truly, the guest stars and production save this album from the drink coaster treatment, including Memphis Bleek, Juvenile, DMX, and of course, Jay-Z. A sophomore album that faced the sophomore jinx due to a sophomoric performance. -EJR

- Couple Good TracksThis album was actually the first time I heard Foxy. It definitely has it high points, but mainly brought down with low ones. A lot of forgettable tracks, that aren't bad but are boring, but there are a lot of bad tracks too. Fox shines the most on the tracks that she's on by herself, which isn't a lot. This album got me listening but her first album "Ill Na Na" made me a fan. The albums stand outs are Hot Spot and My Life. But I Can't, Dog and a Fox, and J.O.B. are also worth a listen. If your a fan of Fox I suggest giving this album a listen, but if you're not I suggest passing this one, and going for Ill Na Na or her best Broken Silence.

- Pure Garbagefirst off mami changed her voice up, bit kimmy's style and flooded the album with commercial and radio friendly joints. besides the grimey noreaga joint, ever song was invented for radio airplay, and was highly commercialized when she through on every rapper that ever scored a platinum record. hot spot was a weak first single, and nobody even knew that she came out with i can't, even though it was the album's best song. also she left off that hot joint wit janet jackson, which is probably her best work to date. chyna white was the worst song ever. ill na na was a hot record, but mami slipped up big on this one right her.

- NANA BELIKE RUNNIN' THIS HERE/ THE ALBUM IS THE BOMBFOXY'S MOST LATEST EFFORT DEFINES HIP-HOP MUSIC AS WELL AS HIP-HOP CULTURE. CHYNA DOLL IS NO OTHER ALBUM I'VE EVER HEARD. I LISTEN TO THIS ALBUM EVERYDAY SINCE I GOT IT THE SECOND DAY OF IT'S RELEASE. I HAVE THREE. THE SONG MY LIFE WAS WAY OVERDUE. IT'S TOME LIL' KIM GETS PUT IN HER PLACE. LIL'KIM CAN NEVER DELIVER LIRYCS LIKE THE FOX. MS.BROWN GAVE NORTH, EAST, WEST AND THE DIRTY SOUTH ALLON ONE ALBUM OF 17 BAGGIN' TRACKS. THIS ALBUM IS VERY TASTEFUL. IT HITS OFF BETTER THAN ANY RAP ALBUM THAT IV'E EVER LISTENED TO. I'M 23 I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO RAP SINCE I WAS 10.IT'S BECAUSE OF FOXY THAT I CAN WRITE AND BUST A RHYME WHEN I'M READY. TO BAD I CAN'T SAY THE SAME ABOUT LIL'KIM. SHE ALL TO SIMPLE FOR ME. HER LYRICS, HER LOOKS,EVEN THOSE PETTY BEATS.THE TWO JUST DON'T COMPARE. KIM SHOULD LEARN FROM FOXY. SHE SHOULD'VE LEARNED FROM FOXY WHEN SHE HAD THE CHANCE TO. LEARN THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A PROSTITUE TO GET WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE. YOU HAVE TO BE A B-W-A. A NICE BUT NASTY LIL SUMMTHIN'.NOTHING MS. BROWN HAS EVER RECORDED WAS WHAT THE HATERS CALL WACK.WHAT IS WACK ANYWAY? PEOPLE KIM IS NOMORE. FOXY HAS MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR ANY YOUNG FEMALE MC WHO WANTS TO DO THERE THING.SHE'S DEFINETLY OPENED UP DOOR. WHAT FEMALE MC YOU KNOW THAT SPINNED,AND FLIPPED THE HIP-HOP COIN THE WAY SHE DID. NONE KIM TRYED AND GOT OUT BEAT . ILL NANA DID THAT.ON THAT NOTE MS.FOXY A.K.A BROWN IS GOING DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE FIRST YOUNG AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE CEO OF A RECORD LABEL. HER OWN RECORD LABEL. AND IT DON'T STOP. HATERS GET YA WEIGHT UP NOT YA HATE UP .PEACE
