- This Is How It Should Be Done!
While the intro "Chicken Coop" is corny and goes on for way too long, it somehow doesn't detract from the overall vibe and brisk pace of this great CD. These are 12 tight tracks, all brilliantly produced, somewhat derivative at times, but a pleasure to blast from your car or in your headphones. "The Promise" is probably my favorite track of all, a thumping, percussive track produced by and featuring Havoc of Mobb Deep.
The fine chemistry between these 2 MC's and their fluid delivery are flawless. "Get Me Home", a smooth, R&B laced collaboration with Blackstreet manages to be radio friendly without sounding watered down. "No One's" is another soul-flavored jam that samples an old 80's jam, but breathes new life into it and Foxy's understated flow compliments the lush backing track to perfection. The album's other big hit ("I'll Be" featuring Jay-Z)ends the LP on a high note and is another collaboration made in hip-hop heaven! Her 2 follow-ups have been less consistent, but when she debuted in 1996 with this fine collection, Foxy Brown raised the stakes for female MC's everywhere. Few have managed to live up to the challenge, including Ms. Brown herself. Personally, I'm awaiting another masterpiece.

- She ain't Foxy enough for my liking...
This debut album from Foxy Brown was weak. First of all, she made the HUGE mistake of making a song with Jay-Z...he'll just ruin any cut from the start, no matter how fresh the beat is. Lyrically, Foxy Brown is an airhead and she can't rip anything but her clothes off. I can't stand when people say that she's the best female rapper ever (especially Lil Kim - eek!)...that is a statement which is TOO BOLD to make. None of the tracks on here are any good and the topics of money, sex with numerous men, and jewelry is already played out by No Limit's Master P. Bottom Line: you wanna hear real female rappers, then check out old school tracks from Roxanne Shante, Queen Latifah, and MC Lyte, or Bahamadia and Lauren Hill.

- Great Debut
Seriously, this is a great Debut by a female rapper. This is the best female rapper out their---Lil'Kim can't touch The Ill NaNa--and wha! --Get me home and Ill be--the singles are off the chain--Ill na na and holy matrimony--are so tight and great jamming for the car--Please cop this--and dont forget about "chyna Doll" by foxy--10X better than her debut--which is rare to all artists--usually the 1st is better--but chyna doll kicks it--Ill Na NA is da bomb also

- Almost a classic!
Foxy Brown can straight flow! Everyone knows that. She ripped Case's Touch Me Tease me wide apart and for me, stole the show from LL Cool J on Who Shot Ya.
Her debut album is very good. Foxy Browns flow is different in a strange way that I can't put my finger on and that is why she stands out. Her beats match her feiry rhymes perfectly.
However my only complaint I would say is she didn't write all of her material-not even half.
However she was 16 when she recorded this so maybe she just wasn't secure in her rhymes yet (Too bad cuz she can spit).
But when Fox is on she is unstoppable. Get me Home, Promise,Ill be, and Ill NA na are all clear standouts.
If I is a very astonishing song about Fox getting personal about love lost. This song in itself shows Fox as a rap powerhouse that she has always had the potential to be.
I still feel that even with all her acclaim, Foxy is missing something. Only Fox can hold herself back. It will be nice to hear her new album coming out soon.
My favs: Ill Be, If I, Promise, Get me home
Get this album and Broken Silence. Chyna Doll wasn't good in my opinion! But her debut and third are fire!

- Foxy Brown, The illest chick period.
Although Foxy aka Inga only co-wrote a couple a songs, this cd is bangin'. The production on this album was great. "Get Me Home," "I'll Be," & "Foxy's Bells" were some highlights. When Foxy Brown first met Nas she stated that she was a little scared writing her own rhymes because she didn't know if they were good enough. Still, Foxy Brown was only 16 when she recorded this album and her voice sounds straight up gangsta.
