Fleetwood Mac are a British/American rock band formed in 1967, that have experienced a high turnover of personnel and varied levels of success. From the band's inception through the end of 1974, no incarnation of Fleetwood Mac lasted as long as two years, but all featured core members Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. The two most successful periods for the band were during the late 1960s British blues boom, when they were led by guitarist Peter Green; and from 1975-87, with more pop-orientation, featuring Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. |

How heartwarming it is when a band of a certain vintage recognises that another new album would be about as welcome as rheumatism and heads out to play everyone’s favourite songs with no ulterior motive.

John Walsh: 'Fleetwood Mac survived 42 years of madness, sex, drugs, failure and success' Date: 03 Nov 2009 Independent -
I went to see Fleetwood Mac at Wembley Arena and, musically speaking, it was wonderful. The strains of "If You Go Your Own Way" (which Lindsay Buckingham wrote about Stevie Nicks after their stormy relationship came to an end), the passion that Stevie Nicks put into "Sara" (the song she wrote about her best friend, for whom Mick Fleetwood left his wife after he'd ended his affair with Stevie ...

A SMATTERING FROM ONE OF ROCK'S GREATEST SOAP OPERAS We don't really have a particular reason for choosing Fleetwood Mac this week. Maybe it's just the gypsy in our soul, but here's a handful of good ones from a band that's made an awful lot of swell rock 'n' roll since 1967, no matter what the lineup might be...

Midlake's Tim Smith Talks New Album Date: 11 Nov 2009 Pitchfork -
Photo by Bil Zelman For someone who deals in complex, melodically rich music, Midlake frontman Tim Smith is a remarkably humble dude. On Midlake's 2006 breakout album The Trials of Van Occupanter , the Denton, Texas-based band tinkered with the 70s radio rock of Neil Young and Fleetwood Mac, turning big sounds into private pleasures. On next year's The Courage of Others , the band pulls a ...
