I bought this CD for the video of Weapon of Choice alone. Its a great video and Christopher Walken shows off his great talent as a dancer. Well worth it just for the video. I wish they would sell it on DVD as well.

the album version of star 69 is decent, and the more i listen to it, the more it grows on me. these remixes are much the same way.

xpress 2's mix, dj godfather's first mix, and tino maas's mix are really superb. godfather's second mix isn't all that great though, and the 6th track is just a vocal isolation of roland clarke repeating the song's lines over and over (for dj use i'd presume). but 4 out of the 6 songs on here are very nice. add to that the weapon of choice video, and this is well worth the money.

Buy the IMPORTED single (ASIN:B00005BIWG) with Enhanced video instead. This version contains the video (I bought both), but the import contains an enhanced version that's full-screen. I sure would like to see it compatible with a DVD player though, monitors are only so large.

Oh, my relationship with Fatboy and his music goes back a few years. Let's just say we've come a long way, baby.

When Mr. Cook (better known as Fatboy to his U.S. contemporaries) released "Better Living Through Chemistry," I received an advanced copy from Astralwerks as I was the primary RPM directory at my college station. I enjoyed his formulaic yet insightful method of building-it-up, tearing-it-down (which his since become Fatboy Slim's signature style) on great tracks like "Michael Jackson" and "Song For Lindy."

With his next release, "You've Come A Long Way, Baby" I was similarly interested in the gems among the radio singles, favorites including "You're Not From Brighton" and "Love Island" (which began to grow on me dispite tearing its melody straight from "Lindy").

After "On The Floor At The Boutique," which was possibly one of my truly favorite efforts, my attention began to grow weary. Norman Cook was quickly becoming an MTV icon, a SPIN cover model, more or less an advertisement for The Next Big Thing. Along came his third album, and I had long since forgotten Fatboy, moving on to less commercial DJs and ensconcing myself in the rave scene (vs. the club scene).

Then I picked up a club mix by Johnny Vicious which featured "Star 69." Without looking at the case, I knew I had found a new winner. Let me just say I was shocked to find out that it was Fatboy. Once again, he was creating innovative music.
Once I saw the "Weapon Of Choice" video one night heavily under the influence, I was corralled back into Cook's world of predictable club beats. I bought this single primarily for the video featuring the wondrous Walken doing what he does best. I stayed on for the remaining audio tracks which are incidentally just plain great. "Star 69 (What the F**k)" is a terrific track, Fatboy Slim fan or not. Shell out 7 bucks. That's a dollar a track, and with a deal like that, trust me, you'll be building it up before you'll be tearing it down.

i only know a few fatboy slim songs, like Gangsta Trippin, Rockefeller Skank, Weapon of Choice.. but if you love the catchy but repetitive voice samples he uses into infinity, you'll probably love this song. i fell in love with it (even though i can't play it around parental units) the VERY first time i heard the MP3 i grabbed off the "Napster of the internet circa mid-90s" and HAD to buy the single... (see? that's how it's supposed to work!!)
