| French filmmakers David Moreau and Xavier Palud have reportedly been booted off their stateside debut, the Lionsgate horror-thriller The Eye, starring Jessica Alba. The film is a remake of the Korean hit. Fangoria.com reports that the studio has scheduled two weeks of reshoots that will be directed by Patrick Lussier, the director of Dracula 2000 and White Noise: The Light, instead of Moreau and Palud. The site adds, "This situation seems either ironic or appropriate, given that The Eye is a remake of the popular Asian chiller by the Pang Brotherswho were removed from their Hollywood debut, The Messengers, which had new footage guided by Eduardo Rodriguez." The Eye will open (pun intended) February 1, 2008 |
