Everclear is a rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, USA, in 1992. For most of its existence, Everclear consisted of Art Alexakis (b. 12 April 1962, Los Angeles, California, USA; vocals, guitar), Craig Montoya (b. 14 September 1970; bass, vocals) and Greg Eklund (b. 18 April 1970; drums). Eklund replaced original drummer Scott Cuthbert in 1994. Montoya and Eklund departed the band in 2003, but Alexakis has continued performing as Everclear with a new lineup. |

When his group performs at B92.9 FM's Cruise and Good's Extreme Halloween concert tonight at Modesto Centre Plaza — an event that also holds a $1,000 costume contest — you can bet "Santa Monica," "Father of Mine" or "I Will Buy You A New Life" will be on the set list.

The Mod Club is poor at letting people know about opening acts and set times on its website and in its advertisements. So when I arrived just after 9 p.m. and was told Tracy Lyons was on stage, Paper Tongues would follow and Everclear wouldn't go on until after 10:30, I beat a retreat across the street to Metro to buy some groceries.

When I was younger, I'd watch MuchMusic waiting for videos of songs I liked to come on so I could record them on blank VCR tapes. I came across one of these tapes while moving a couple years ago and watched it for fun. Everclear's "Wonderful" must have been on there at least five or six times.
