Inspired early on by guitar legends like: ERIC CLAPTON/JIMMY HENDRICKS/ROBERT CRY/CARLOS SANTANA/RANDY RHOADS and BOB MARLEY , at the age of 12 Alkatraz convinced his dad Benigno, a lead singer in a salsa band, to enroll him in guitar lessons. A few years later the Rap game was growing strong and he soon was jamming to ICE-T/ PUBLIC ENEMY/ NWA/ ICE CUBE/ RUN DMC AND THE BEASTIE BOYS. Due to the broad selection of music he listened to It was clear to see the versatility developing in him. Alkatraz has collaborated with Bigmato/ SPKilla (producer for NORE)/ Freddy/ Artie/ Lunchtime/ Skiller/ Wisdom/ Riel/ Midas/ Faiz/ Gemstar/ G Cardona/ Cuatro Esquinas and many other Underground talented producers in the New York area.
