Descripción (en inglés) :
Seven Lives Many Faces is Enigma's seventh album. This album expands the sound catalogue of previous releases and it is expected to lead to a new Omni-Cultural wave. The lead single "Seven Lives" is a powerful fusion of modern and classical elements. Enigma is an Electronic musical project founded by Michael Cretu, David Fairstein and Frank Peterson in 1990. Cretu is both the composer and the producer; his former wife Sandra often provided vocals on Enigma tracks. Jens Gad co-produced and played guitar on three of the Enigma albums.17 tracks.Análisis de usuario (en inglés) - 2008-10-19
- Cretu's lost it...or he's just not trying anymoreI'll spare everyone an in-depth review and just simply say that this is, undoubtedly, Enigma's weakest album yet. Apart from a few decent songs (i.e. the title track) the album feels uninspired and boring. As a matter of fact, the album is too derivative of older releases; there's very, very little that's original here. And my biggest complaint is that Cretu doesn't truly develop the few good ideas he has! "De Ja Vu" sounds like a very promising track, but it dies away after a mere 3 minutes or so. Save your money - at least until Cretu gets it right again.

- As bad as VoyageurAfter I heard this album is coming, I thought it would be as good as the first four Enigma albums I thought Enigma was back but like E5 and E6 there are just 1-2 good songs in it other song are just "boom boom" no melody, no "music" just some basses that's all.
In my opinion, there are just 2 good songs in Seven lives many faces: La puerta Del cielo and The same parents, others are just fillers there is nothing musical in them, no musical "textures" no atmosphere, nothing. I think even 8 years old ordinary kid can compose that kind of "boom boom" and empty music.

- Seven Lives, Many FailuresAfter listening to the full-length versions of many of these songs multiple times in preparation to buy this album, I was so turned off by the majority of what I heard that I felt it necessary to write a review just to say how ridiculously bad I think this album is! There are a few good moments, "Encounters," "The Same Parents" and "La Puerta Del Cielo" being a few of them, but what's the deal with the screaming male singer on songs like "Seven Lives" and "Distorted Love"? He completely ruins the songs on which he is featured, and if he weren't bad enough, one also has the puerile lyrics to contend with. "Je T'aime Till My Dying Day" is just basically the line "Do you love me too?" repeated over and over again to minimal background music, and "Distorted Love" is the scary male singer screaming "Touch me, I'll be your daddy, smell me, I'll be your mommy" over and over again, with "I love your body" on a loop in the background (sorry, scary dude, I'm not interested in smelling you today). "Touchness" fares no better, with "Touch and kiss me, up and down" being the only lyrics. If these songs did not bear the name "Enigma" and were not associated with Michael Cretu, they would be in the nearest wastebasket. This stuff is dreadful. The best thing about this album is the cover artwork.

- Surprisingly different, yet a good listen.I'll be honest, when I first heard the single off this album, my first thought was WTF. It was a very stark contrast to the music I heard previoulsy from enigma. The guys voice was very jarring to me, and I didn't really like it.
I had bought it for a gift and ended up ripping it and gave it a few more listens. The single started to grow on me and the rest of the music was more in line to what enigma had done before. The single Seven Lives started to grow on me and I actually really like it now. It's defintely very different but has some connections to how he usually sounds.
I wouldn't have minded hearing a version with a girl singing. Not every song is a gem, but none of the songs are bad, and all offer something unique. I guess it's good he tried something different. It really was jarring at first to expect one thing and get another. The beatbox thing sounded cheesy at first, but it kinda grew on me and flowed with the song.
Overall, keep in mind that the main single is the most different thing on the album. The other songs are pretty in line with how Enigma usually sounds. With that being said I can see the mixed reviews, but if you really go in with an open mind, you'll be surprised.

- What is Cretu thinking?I have all of Enigma's albums since the begining and he has been one of my favorite artists since he came out in 1990, I was in high school at the time. I have fallen in love with this style of music and have since bought all of B-Tribe's albums, the first Deep Forest, Delerium, all of Enya's, etc. But ever since "Cross of Changes" Enigma has gone down a path that I have found hard to follow. I see people writing about how creative he is and all that, and sure, nobody else really sounds that much like him anymore, but is that a good thing? Every album he has come out with since then has been more of the same. More of the male screaming lyrics, less of the sultry sexy female lyrics usually in French or Latin, more of the electric guitar and less of the flutes and strings. I loved Enigma back when he was making sexy music, now it is just some guy yelling all the time. This album is so bad I can only listen to one song, and it is an instrumental (number 10 or 11 I forget). The rest are so bad I can't even play them. What happened to Sadeness, Mea Cupla remixes, The Child In Us, Return to Innocence, Carly's song, Push the Limits, Gravity of Love, all the songs that sounded so deep and sexy? I know you have to be imaginative on each album, but come on, enough with the yelling and beat boxing.
