- The best Elvis has ever sounded on record!

With the Elvis recording going into popular domain in Europe this year, RCA is finnally getting it right. The original albums, as they were, with bonus tracks, in the best possible sound, with original cover and back cover of the albums. Beautiful. The sound restoration is to write home about, using DSD technology, Elvis is suddenly alive again. You can hear him with such a clarity, every vocal inflexion he makes, it it just breathtaking, even compared to the remasters done three or four years ago. These three albums: Elvis Presley , Elvis and Loving You belong in everyone collection in this form. ESSENTIAL.

- And the award doesn't go to..again

Five stars for the CD. Maybe 2 or 3 stars for the movie. If you are a fan of the early Elvis pre Army look you will want the album just for the cover picture. The songs from the movie are excellent, but maybe you just had to be there. Elvis movies never received an Academy Award nomination. The Academy just never got it. "Loving You" was not nominated for best song nor was any song ever nominated if it was sung in an Elvis film. He might not have been the James Dean of actors but he was the Elvis of singers and quite often the songs were better than the tunes from other films. (The winner in 1957 was "All The Way" from "The Joker is Wild.)" This CD has some great music. "Mean Woman Blues" "(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear" "Lovin' You" "Got a lot o' Livin' To Do" "Lonesome Cowboy" "Hot Dog" and "Party" are all from the film, "Loving You." You also get some songs not from the film and some extra tunes not on the vinyl original album. "Tell Me Why" was written by Titus Turner and was a 1958 hit for Gale Storm. Elvis' version did not appear until 1966. "Have I Told you Lately That I Love You" is pure country. If you want a CD to listen to that displays many varied Elvis tempos and vocal variety this is a good one. Tom Willett

- DSD Technology Rocks!

His Voice is amazingly "up front", the instruments sound crisp, and the hiss is all but gone. The extra tracks are from the same session and were originally left off the L.P., having these give a fuller chronological history, as some were B sides on singles.

I am now going to buy all of the other albums that have been enhanced (remastered) by DSD Technology, and even replace the albums I already have. (watch out eBay!)

So you've bought a DSD enhanced cd of Elvis, were blown away by the listening experiance, and now you want to buy more, well here are some that are available.

When looking for yourself, the production dates will be 2005 onwards.

These are no particular order, and most will feature additional tracks:

Elvis Presley

Elvis

Loving You

Elvis: Ultimate Gospel (+2 Bonus Tracks)

History (3cd Box Set)

Elvis #1 Singles

- "I will spend my whole life through...loving you."

The best example of Elvis' pre-Army Hollywood recordings. Watch the movie first, then listen to this explosive soundtrack. Good thing RCA again re-issued old albums and added more tracks to them. The original #1 gold album had 12 (not long enough), and now the re-issue has 20 (better!). "Mean Woman Blues" gets the soundtrack started. One that one, Elvis really pours it all on. If you love Elvis, I highly recommend it. If your a fan of his movies and the music in it, it is definetly essential.

- Got a Lot O' Dancin' to Do!

More than half of the songs on this album didn't appear in the movie. This is great album! I heard "Mean Woman Blues" by Roy Orbison first and I liked it a lot but when I heard his...wow. Really hot rockabilly! Few fast rockers are featured here ("Party" is Wanda Jackson's first hit and it will remain a classic, "Hot Dog" and "Got a Lot O' Livin' to Do!") and nice ballads ("Lonesome Cowboy", "Loving You", "Don't Leave Me Now", "Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?", "Is It So Strange"). Very nice rock 'n' roll!
