Ramona Bowl officials enjoyed the first big success of the summer Friday when country music innovator Dwight Yoakam drew nearly 2,000 people. The concert showed that promoters can consider taking the gamble of booking big acts in Hemet's storied amphitheater, the Inland region's best and sadly under-used outdoor venue.

Vince Gill and Emmylou Harris will perform together on The Jay Leno Show on Wednesday (Sept. 30). The program airs at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. While in Los Angeles, Gill and Harris will share the stage with Melissa Etheridge and Dwight Yoakam at Club Nokia for a "guitar pull," with proceeds benefiting the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's All for the Hall fund.
