Some of John Petrucci's best guitar solos in Liquid Tension Experiment I & II, back in 1998 & 1999. This instrumental progressive rock / metal band was formed at the end of the 20th century by Mike Portnoy who was asked by Magna Carta Records to put together a group of musicians he wanted to work with on a solo project of his own. His choices fell on Tony Levin (bass), Jordan Rudess (keyboards) and John Petrucci (guitar). The video features live footage and pictures from that time as well as John Petrucci's contemporary photographs with members from Liquid Tension Experiment and some shots of their reunion in 2008 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the project. Once again, this is not a list... I don't like to call it that way because in my opinion the hardest thing to do in art is to rate one piece above another one or below when the level of quality among them is so high and similar (and to name something as "the best" is impossible). One's taste can vary considerably and no opinion is universal when judging art. This is just a group of what I consider to be his best guitar solos in the aforementioned project. 1.
