She's been at it for years. Sometimes she hits, but lately she's been missing, but not do to content. On the contrary, she's probably been making some of her best and brightest lately. Donna Summer's new single "The Power Of One" is a big grand orchestrated ballad for a silly little film "Pokemon 2", but in many ways its so much more. I think that it's going to be her biggest hit in years. The combination of Donna's rich voice with fine toned instrumentation is a real winner. The biggest winner however is the packaging. It's a single for a kiddy film and is a brilliant ballad. A nearly certain smash. The only reason Donna hasn't had a blockbuster in recent times is stale promotion. Through the nineties, Donna has stunned fans with strong ballad singles like "Whenever There Is Love", "Any Way At All" and the danceable but light pop of "I Will Go With You". It's been record companies with little or no support lately but this time, well, I know it's for real and that Donna will have major success. It's not one of her best ballads but is just an awesome work of light sounds and a beautiful voice that works. The b-side score of the song is very nice too.

This single is a must have for all Donna fans who appreciate her voice as much or even more than her brilliantly creativity. She is not a writer or producer here but just the lung power. It's the power of Donna's voice that does the trick of the song "The Power Of One".

Donna's voice has taken on that vintage and timeless quality that cannot be discerned from most other female singers with time's passage. And come to think of it, hers is not a singular voice---it is an amalgam of voices, distinct, ever-changing but never conflicting. This song is a perfect ballad for her. The lyrics and music are heartwarming yet powerful. The reviewer from Hawthorne, NJ hit the mark! No one can describe it better than s/he did.

I haven't heard the song played on the air, however. Am I in the wrong city or tuned in to the wrong stations? Pop/Top 40 radio stations, deejays, hello!???

I was fortunate enough to hear this song and it has GOT to be one of the most beautifully performed ballads of Donna Summer's career. It also may be giving us a glimpse into Donna's upcoming full length release tentatively due this October. This is the first single off of the new Pokemon 2000-The Power Of One movie soundtrack. Donna's breath-taking vocals soar with every peak and valley melody. Her vocals exude a loving mother guiding her child in what to expect and how to react to life's challenges. The lyrics are a very positive message to today's youth and what better place to showcase this song than on the most popular video game and children's movie. Radio stations would be foolish not to add this song to their heavy rotation ASAP! Even Liz Smith of the NY Daily News said it had SMASH HIT written all over it!

Over the years, Donna Summer has proven herself in the worlds of disco and dance music. But she has yet to have success with her ballads. Which is a shame really. And though her thinner, more transparent vocals have made songs like Love to Love You Baby and I Feel Love massive chart hits, Ms. Summer can BELT a song out! Power of One is a perfect example of this. The lush, vibrant instrumentation, coupled with her powerhouse delivery of the song's very inspirational lyrics, produce a song like no other. It is very hard not to be moved by this powerful song. And though this song is taken from the soundtrack to a children's movie, Power Of One would definitely fit in comfortably on Adult Contemporary or Pop music stations.

There is no denying that Power Of One is a powerful song. It certainly has the power to be a smash hit. And a hit ballad is something that Donna Summer has been lacking for much too long. And I say it's a shame.

This is by far my favorite Donna Summer's song! The vocals and music match together like jelly and peanut butter (Sorry, I couldn't think of anything else!)! This is the single for the hit sountrack "Pokemon The Movie: 2000" and I'm sure that this song will be welcomed by anyone who hears this great song!!!
