Review - Amazon.com :
One of the breakout stars of 1998, DMX wasted little time in following up his No. 1 album It's Dark and Hell Is Hot with Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood. If the quick turnaround seems surprising, maybe it's because DMX's second LP doesn't fall far from the original tree. Key to his formula, DMX has mastered the art of thug-life anthems, following in the dubious footsteps of 2Pac and Noreaga. While his gruff voice and simple delivery help make his songs infectious, they're rarely creative, especially with anemic beats, redundant subject matter, and his trademark barks. Basically, Flesh of My Flesh is a perfect buy for those who couldn't wait a whole year for another DMX LP, but it won't convert many new listeners. --Oliver WangCustomer review - 1999-10-06

- THIS CD IS BY FAR OFF THE HOOK IN HIP HOP TERM.NO DOUBT DMX IS THE HOTEST UP COMING RAPPER TODAY, I SEE HIM BEING AS BIG AS 2-PAC, WITH CUTTS LIKE "AINT NO WAY" TO KEEP YOUR HEAD BOBBIN, AND OTHERS THAT WILL HAVE YOU IN DEEP THOUGHT LIKE "SLIPPIN" THIS GUY IS A LYRICAL GENIUS. THUMBS UP FOR THE ALBUM AS WELL AS HIS PREVIOUS.

- No WayTerrible, Terrible. What a waste. These songs sound like they were done overnight. It almost sounded like he had nothing to say. There is prabably 1 good song on the album. This is nothing like the first.

- Best Rap album I've heard, this edited version is more fun..This is the best Rap album I've heard. The album contains a well balanced variety of tracks. You have the head nodders, the serious soulful tracks, the intense high stringers, and a couple of dark ones. I personally like the edited version better because I like the overdubbed vocal patches, (what! Wooo ComeOn! AAH). The DMX signature vocal patches sound great while blotting out the "parental advisory" content. It's like an extra instrument.
