Diana Krall was born into a musical family in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada (on November 16, 1964). She began learning the piano at the age of four. In high school, she started playing in a small jazz group. At the age of fifteen, she started playing regularly in several Nanaimo restaurants. She also spent some time in Toronto studying with Canadian Jazz great, Don Thompson (Bass/Piano) and with the support of the Canada Council she moved to the U.S to continue studies and develop her career. |

Krall przyjedzie do Polski promować swoją najnowszą płytę "Quiet Nights", której premiera odbyła się 27 marca tego roku. Warto dodać, że utrzymana w klimatach bossanowy płyta "Quiet Nights" od razu wskoczyła na szczyt najnowszego notowania najlepiej sprzedających się płyt w Polsce.
Diana Krall to kanadyjska wokalistka i pianistka jazzowa. Aktualnie mieszka w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Ma na swoim koncie 12 studyjnych albumów, rozgłos zyskała w 1996 r., dzięki płycie "All For You". Prywatnie jest żoną Elvisa Costello.
Diana Krall występowała już w Polsce kilka razy. Koncertowała podczas festiwalu Era Jazzu, który odbył się w grudniu 2004, Rok temu artystka ponownie odwiedziła nasz kraj w ramach festiwalu Jazz nad Odrą. Był to wówczas jedyny w ubiegłym sezonie koncert artystki w Europie.

Najtiražnija džez pevačica i pijanistkinja Dajana Krol (Diana Krall) nastupiće prvi put u Beogradu 21. novembra u Sava centru, u okviru svetske turneje kojom promoviše novi album "Quiet Nights".
Kako je najavljeno, dobitnicu dve Gremi nagrade u Beogradu će pratiti iskusni džez muzičari Džon Klejton (John Clayton), Endrju Vilson (Andrew Wilson) i Džef (Jeff) Hamilton, kao i na ostalih 36 koncerata turneje u 22 zemlje sveta.
Za koncert u Sava centru od 22. septembra u prodaju su puštene ulaznice po cenama od 3.000, 4.000 i 5.000 dinara.

Figura iconica a jazz-ul modern, Diana Krall va concerta pentru prima data la Bucuresti toamna aceasta, pe 22 noiembrie 2009, la Sala Palatului! Concertul va fi inclus in turneul de promovare a celui mai recent album ar artistei, „Quiet Nights”, ce va fi lansat si in Romania in luna aprilie a acestui an.
Cu o cariera de peste 20 de ani, Diana Krall a promovat jazz-ul modern, pe care l-a imbogatit cu o interpretare proprie, calda si senzuala. Baladele clasice cu bogate influente ale muzicii pop au devenit apanajul unui stil unic si inconufundabil al celei care avea sa fie supranumita „Diva jazz-ului modern”!
Nascuta intr-o familie de muzicieni in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada, Diana Krall a inceput sa ia lectii de pian la varsta de 4 ani, in liceu fiind deja membra a unui grup de jazz. La 15 ani a inceput sa cante in restaurantele chic ale orasului natal, iar doi ani mai tarziu a participat la Vancouver International Jazz Festival, unde a si castigat o bursa de studiu la Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Vocea speciala si maniera aparte de interpretare ale Dianei Krall au atras atentia unor cunoscuti oameni de muzica, printre care basistul Ray Brown si tobosarul Jeff Hamilton, care au incurajat-o sa se mute in Los Angeles, unde avea sa-l intalneasca pe celebrul pianist Jimmy Rowles. Impresionat de stilul ei, Jimmy Rowles a devenit profesorul de pian al Dianei, fiind totodata si cel care a sprijinit-o in debutul carierei. In 1993, Diana Krall a lansat primul album, „Stepping Out”, pentru care a colaborat cu John Clayton si Jeff Hamilton. Materialul a atras atentia producatorului Tommy LiPuma, alaturi de care Diana a inregistrat cel de-al doilea album, „Only Trust Your Heart”, lansat in 1995. Al treilea album, „All for You: A Dedication to the Nat King Cole Trio”, a avut un succes impresionant, care dupa nominalizarea la premiile Grammy a ramas timp de aproape 70 de saptamani in clasamentul Billboard Jazz! Au urmat alte 10 albume cu vanzari record - printre care „The Look of Love”, primul Top 10 in Billboard 200, sau „Diana Krall: Live in Paris”, primul album live din cariera – recompensate cu numeroase discuri de platina, nominalizari si premii, inclusiv doua trofee Grammy pentru „Best Jazz Vocal Performance” in 1999 si „Best Jazz Vocal Album” in 2002.
Toamna aceasta, publicul roman va avea pentru prima oara sansa de a o vedea pe Diana Krall intr-un spectacol live, pe 22 noiembrie, pe scena Salii Palatului din Bucuresti. Biletele vor fi puse in vanzare incepand de luni, 13 aprilie, pe www.myticket.ro si in reteaua magazinelor Diverta, la urmatoarele categorii de pret, in functie de pozitia in sala: 500, 300, 220, 150 si 100 lei.
