- Great song, disappointing maxi single
I see that my opinion may not be a shared view based on the other reviews of this so far, but I find this maxi single to be one of DM's more disappointing singles. It has nothing to do with the song itself, "A question of lust" is an amazing song and I was really excited to hear some cool alternate versions of it, like most other DM songs that get the Maxi treatment. The only alternate version here is the minimal mix, which really doesn't sound much different from the original aside from it being, well, minimal( a quieter version stripped of some of the synths that were present in the original ) with three minutes of odd noise added at the end.
The B sides also leave something to be desired. "Christmas Island" is a decent instrumental track but it certainly didn't deserve it's own extended version here. And was it really necessary to have a live version of "People are people" here? Sure, it's a great song and live versions are always great but this song is available on many other DM cd's, including as a live track. It would have been much better to have a live version of something off of Black Celebration like "It doesn't matter two", especially since it's instrumental is featured here.
Yes, I know that I'm being picky and I must take into concideration that this song came out during a period where the stuff released on maxi singles is a bit different from the maxi singles of today, but compare this single to the "A question of Time" maxi single which came out around the same time and you'll hear the difference. It's still a nice addition for the DM fan/collector/completist but fans of the song itself might just be better off buying the entire Black Celebration album instead of this. Maybe in the future DM will release some new mixes of "A question of Lust" but for now, this will have to do.

- Depeche Mode is the best band ever!!!
I have this CD and many, many others in my Depeche Mode collection. In my opinion DM is an all time classic band. These "Maxi-singles" I have found to have the best remixes and "B" sides around. So....... get this CD! And then log onto Depechemode.com its very cool!

P.S. Enjoy the Silence Maxi single is my #1 all time favorite CD (regardless of artist)

- A must-have for Depeche Mode fans!
I discovered Depeche Mode while living in Europe in the mid-80's. The Question of Lust maxi-single on yellow vinyl was my first introduction to the band. It is now on my list of must-have CD's as I transition my vinyl collection over. Although Question of Lust is undoubtedly one of my favorite DM songs, the live versions on the maxi-single are excellent. This is a must-have for those of you who collect singles and b-sides.
