The song Enjoy the Silence is, simply put, one of THE greatest songs of all time, and it comes very close to being the greatest. This "single" is extremely worth its low price. Not only do you get Depeche Mode's ultimate song, Enjoy the Silence, but you also get numerous remixes and B-sides. Each of which are basically entirely new songs of the same caliber as Enjoy the Silence. Sibeling and Memphisto are magnificent. If you like Depeche Mode in ANY way, or music for that matter, buy this CD. You will be EXTREMELY glad you did.

There is not much to be said about this CD except that if you're a Depeche Mode fan, you want it. It includes one of their best, I would argue best, singles in "Enjoy the Silence (radio edit)". It also includes the best remixes I have heard from the band (granted the only other remixes I've heard have been on the Home/Useless single and the Only When I Lose Myself single which were pretty much dreadful for the most part) However, I've heard from many other places that this CD along with Personal Jesus represent some of the best efforts from the band in the remix department. These remixes even outshine most of those from Erasure, a band from which I have heard dozens. Granted, it's Flood who does the mixing rather than the band itself, but "...Silence" is in my opinion their most "mixable" song (if there is such a thing).

The B Sides round out the CD and are also excellent (again, far better than recent efforts such as "Headstar" from the OWILM single). Sibeling is interesting in a good way, but it's Memphisto that really shines. This is a very powerful track, somewhat reminiscent of "Pimph" from their "Music for the Masses" album, but just not quite as good.

All in all, die hard fans, and even casual fans who ignore everything before Violater should love this single. My advice: Get a copy NOW, and "Enjoy the Silence"!

The single "Enjoy the silence" is my favorite song ever and Depeche Mode is my favorite band ever. Although the none of the band's songs have a need to be remixed, I particularly "Enjoy"ed their Ecstatic Dub and Rikki Tik Tik versions. I am a bit disappointed, however, that Flood wasn't as innovative on this CD single as he was on some other of Depeche Mode's songs. Also, a part of me wishes that David Gahan actually sang "Enjoy the Silence"'s lyrics in the remixes, but the songs are good nonetheless. Altogether, I rate this CD a 4 out of 5 stars.

I never noticed the Remixes of Enjoy The Silence (ok, not literally)

I got this disc for the b-sides.

I had "Memphisto" back in the day on the back of the 45 record (yes, kids, those were what came before cds!). But until recently, I had never heard of "Sibeling". I checked out the sample on this site, and was hooked!

I enjoy DM's instumental "mood tracks" and these two are perfectly suited for your "vampire movie of choice". (except possibly for the original "Buffy" flick)

It was nice to get a clean, digital version of Memphisto after all these years, but my record tends to be a little spookier. The hole is ever-so-slightly off-center, producing a slight distortion, which IMO adds to the mood. But, all things said, it's not the way it was intended to sound.

The remixes are good too, if you like those :)

I believe this is the only song that I listened to the most and still listen to it since the release starting from the year 1990.
It is a perfect song.
