The Cranberries are an irish alternative rock band from Limerick, Ireland that formed in 1989 and rose to mainstream popularity in the early 90's. The band consists of Dolores O'Riordan (vocals, keyboards, guitars), Noel Hogan (guitars, vocals, also a member of mono band), Mike Hogan (bass, vocals), and Fergal Lawler (drums, percussion, also a member of The Low Network). The band has been on hiatus since 2004. But they are back on tour since the summer of 2009. |

The band never really officially broke up, instead they told fans on their web site, that they have been on a seven-year hiatus. Singer Dolores O'Riordan had performed with some former band members in Dublin and the band did meet up at O'Riordan's son's christening where they played music together.
