Review - Amazon.com :
Having created a worldwide sensation with their albums Forgiven, Not Forgotten and Talk on Corners, Ireland's Corrs await the hit that will break them wide open in America. To that end, the group (who've earned a Rolling Stones openers slot) has issued a retooled version of its sophomore set, featuring five songs recast by some of Europe's hottest mixmasters, including K-Klass ("So Young"), Tin Tin ("What Can I Do?" and "Runaway," the latter song being from the group's debut), and "Dreams" (the Stevie Nicks song, remixed by Todd Terry, who turned Everything but the Girl's "Missing" into a smash). The new mixes for the most part aren't radical departures from the originals but strip away some elements, and add some spit and polish to others. "Dreams" is notable for taking the song even harder toward the dance floor without losing its appealing Celtic edge. The rest of the album is the same as the original version of Talk on Corners minus a few tracks, but still including their lovely version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing." --Daniel Durchholz

- For want of hearing something new, try the Corrs.
This review has been a long time comin'. I first stumbled upon the Corrs by accident way back in March of this year, sometime around St. Patrick's Day. While channel surfing, I was able to watch the last half of their live performance at the Royal Albert Hall (somewhere in Europe). I believe this was way before their U.S. appearances on SNL and Rosie. It was quite a surprise to discover something different for a change, aside from what was usually heard playing on the radio everyday, at that time. Despite the fact that they're Irish, the Corrs' sound is so unique that I became an instant fan. Hence, I decided to order the video of the performance and this, the "special edition" cd. If you haven't seen the Corrs live, this cd is the next best thing. A majority of the songs are the same ones from the live performance I saw, even though they're the studio session/remix versions. Despite this, the music on the cd sounds great in its own right, whether you keep it in the car, at work, or on your playlist at home. Even though this is a re-release version of their second outing, you won't be disappointed. It's one of my favorites, make it yours.

- Yuck!!!!
This version is worst than their "In Blue" cd. Gosh, why can't people just be and stay true to themselves? This is the Corrs's first attempt to be "Americans" and that says it all. If you really want to hear them at their best, buy their first cd and their "live" cd, where their Irish culture and heritage shines through. But if you want to hear "non-Americans" try to be "Americans" and then fail, by all means this cd is for you.

- I love it, I hate it
First off, I'm trying to find the "Original" Talk on Corners. This special edition literally angers me; beautiful music, lyrics, and singing set to a drum machine. It's almost as if someone (Probably Corr's management) was desperate to make The Corrs into pop stars in the US. I can picture them now - mixing Britanny Spears CD with the Corrs... Yea, it's a hit!

Irish music normally makes one want to jump up and dance. This music is intended to be played at a dance club, not an Irish pub. The difference is much more powerful than my feeble words are conveying.

Beyond the hated drum machines (Do The Corrs not have an accomplished drummer? Of course they do.) the lyrics and harmonies are right on with what I expect from The Corrs. The gifted playing that is almost but not quite covered up by the inhuman beat-box mixes is a joy to find, when you can uncover it.

If you like dance/techno then this might be a CD that is close enough to your style of music, but different enough to be unique. Otherwise, I'd recommend Forgiven Not Forgotten or the fabled Original Talk on Corners that I think exists only as an import. If it doesn't, don't tell me. I need that hope.

- A darkhorse band(in the U.S. anyway)comes through the fog
Although they've been making other CD's before this one, it's the first one I bought. I was influenced to buy this CD because of a performance I saw on the Leno show. They did their hit single "What Can I Do". Although the tin whistle has been taken out from the version I originally heard, it's still a really cool song. Other great songs on this remix CD are "Only When I Sleep", an extremely cool remix of "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac. And a smashing instrumental song called "Patty McCarthy", this CD also contains other great hits which are too numerous to mention. They combine an awesome pop feel with an accent of their native Ireland sound. If you buy this CD, I think you would be very pleased with it . Also if you do like it, you would probably like B*Witched as well. Read my reveiw on their latest CD, "Awake and Breathe".

- Of all the Coors albums--buy this one...
I got this album without realizing it was a remix. As soon as I got it at home, I saw, and had a sinking feeling... REMIX? Yuch... One time in the ol' CD player and I was cured though--because it was absolutely great! I immediately bought the non-remix version and I am completely unimpressed by it.... I have all their albums--and I'd say if you are just getting into the Coors--try this first! You'll love it. If you don't love it--likely you won't enjoy the others much either. Although I never thought I'd say it--the remix version rocks!
