Crowded House is a rock group formed in Melbourne, Australia and led by New Zealand musician and singer-songwriter Neil Finn. The band were originally active from 1986 to 1996 before deciding to split up. In 2007, the band reunited to record and tour again. Neil Finn and Paul Hester decided to form a new band during the Split Enz farewell tour 'Enz with a Bang'. Nick Seymour approached Finn during the after party for the Melbourne show and asked if he could try out for this new band. |

Last year, we reported that Crowded House/Split Enz singer/songwriter Neil Finn was working on a sequel to his 2001 solo album 7 Worlds Collide . The new project had quite a role call of collaborators: Johnny Marr , Radiohead 's Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway , Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Glenn Kotche, and Pat Sansone of Wilco , and others.

Crowded House/Split Enz singer/songwriter Neil Finn 's last solo album, 2001's 7 Worlds Collide , was a live affair recorded with a bunch of talented friends, including former Smiths/current Modest Mouse/Cribs guitarist Johnny Marr, Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien and drummer Phil Selway, and songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Lisa Germano.

First, there was the Spiral Stairs showcase " Date w/IKEA" off Pavement's Brighten the Corners . Then, there was the announcement of the "Date w/IKEA" contest back in November -- a Matador Records contest in which the grand prize was a $500 shopping spree to the famed housewares mecca accompanied by a member of Pavement.
