You don't already have

from 2001 in your music collection. Otherwise, you'll be wasting your hard-earned money as 29 of the 33 songs here are right off that set, despite adding a few more songs like "Wonderland", & "Goin' to the Bank". Also 2 of the returning songs,"Too Hot Ta Trot" & "Heroes" are presented in their edited, rather than full versions like in Anthology.

For those who don't own Anthology, you'll be getting a great set of music which chronological shows the evolution of the from 1970s funk ("Slippery When Wet", "Brick House", "Fancy Dancer") to a slow jams/soft rock ("Sweet Love", "Easy", "Three Times a Lady") band with a couple of hidden gems in-between like "This is Your Life", "Come Inside", "Jesus is Love" (which has Lionel Richie singing with support from a 40+ member choir) & the Grammy winning "Nightshift".

Once again, I will only recommend this to those who don't already own Anthology

Why did Universal release a Lionel Richie/Commodores combination "Gold" set, and not release a collection for each artist separately, surely each artist is worthy of a 2-disc compilation! Also, why wasn't this excellent collection released in the U.S.? Sure, it's a reissue of a 1995 collection, and it tends to have single versions of many of the tracks, but what you get is some excellent remastering and a great collection of The Commodores' best tracks both with and without Mr. Richie. My only complaint that it doesn't have the song "Lay Back".

Don't buy this one either ... Unless you like grooving to the wrong words. I thought I was going to be sent back to the good old days ... Save your money. You won't get a refund! You can't call anyone. I got it "DRY"!

This is a great CD...for "Dancin & Romancin" Well worth the money... a music must have for any Commodores fan

I was not disappointed and I can truly can say it was the second best purchase that I had made in my life! The first being DVD player/recorder...
