Review - Amazon.com :
Can growing bank accounts and artistic integrity co-exist in Chingy's world? It's a question that begs for an answer on Powerballin', considering he's become a multi-platinum solo seller and not just a Ludacris accessory. A very large chunk of studio time is given over to expounding on his newfound wealth: on "Give Em Some Mo" he's a "young Donald Trump," and on "I Do" he reminds listeners about his new cars (Caprice, Range Rover with spinners, Impala). Fair enough--you have it, you flaunt it. But devoting a whole song ("26's") to the size of his car rims is a bit disturbing. The interesting thing is that numbers like "Balla Baby" are legitimate heat-seeking dance-floor winners, as his breakout smash "Right Thurr" was. But guest shots by R. Kelly and Janet Jackson don't add much to the effort, and when Chingy objectifies young women in the worst way--literally conversing with a body part on "Make That Ass Talk"--it's clear that he needs to refocus his lyrics to match the great beats that are here. --Dalton Higgins

- Alright, lets try this...
If you think this CD is a pathetic self-parody and you'd rather listen to good stuff like Public Enemy and NWA instead of this POS hit "yes".

If you think Chingy rules the world and PE and NWA are posers hit "no".

Lets see how this little experiment goes on....

- Chingy
I didnt want to give this a rating at all, because I honestly didnt know what this was. Is this music? Judging by the cover I assumed it was either a Master P produced disc, or a Master P produced movie. Ching-A-Ling (<---lol) needs to quit.

By the way...does he actually hoot like a owl in that song?

- Chingy is not a rapper
Just wanted to clear up for all the ***en half wits out there (Mike Madison). This album is pathetic. Chingy is not cool, chingy is not talented & he definitely aint a good rapper.

Chingy do what all other rappers do, in particular juvenile, cash money, and snoop. degrade women, money, and the life.Chingy makes no apologies on this album. Psyche!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is not true. There are rappers out there, namely Talib Kweli, Common, Jean Grae, De La Soul, The Roots, even Royce Da 5'9" that don't rap about this sort of crap & don't get the respect they deserve. As for fans not caring about Hip-Hop culture, if you don't care about it you're obviously not into Hip-Hop. You're into Commercial, [...], Bling, Bling, jump in your coup with the sunroof down whistling at the grisly chicks on the side of the street while smokin a fat $100 bill in a blunt music.

Real MCs like me expose fools like Chingy for the fools they are.

Oh yeah did I mention the album sucks like a lollipop. (Chingy couldn't even come up with a metaphor that simple!)

Peace. MC Jaybsty.

PS. Pick up a copy of Streets Disciple by Nas for some real Hip-Hop Culture.

- Sick
I am sorry but I am a music lover, and although no style of music can be defined as bad there is one that fails to make it into the rule, that is RnB(Good ol' Rythm and Blues was great though). I mean, to the fans of Chingy, let me just ask you one question: what do you respect in that guy? If you admire him so much, then he must inspire you in some way. So what is there to respect?

I mean seriously, just look at the album cover. Like 99% of hip hop/Rnb (the way these two genres merge more and more makes me sick), he has two things to show the world about him: That he has a)money and b)women (probably cos he's got money in the first place) and that seems to make him a very great man according to record sales!

Check out most of the RnB or Rap videos today, its the same: Women,Money,Women,Bling,Women,Rolls Royce. Is there anything respectable in that? I have nothing against either women or money. But I have something against ho's and bling bling. These guys take the most revolting aspects of capitalism and expoloit it to a degree that is just stupid. And the way women are represented is utterly machist and degrading.

Thats all they have to say. No more political message, no more social consciousness, nothing. What used to be the music from the streets is now the music from the bank account. Hip Hop used to be social-orientated, now it is the most tacky and revolting representation of money. What rappers once fought against, these guys have become.

These kinds of guy make me feel more guilty to live in a rich nation while the rest of the planet is starving than GW Bush himself and believe me, I can't stand the guy.
