If you are a fan of Cher's 70's hits, you cannot go wrong with this CD. My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw this collection at this price...$2.29! Cher has so many other collections that are getting all the attention. But this one is really hard to beat for the money and the sound is very good -- much better than "Cher & Sonny & Cher's Greatest Hits" also on MCA. But this is an import with a very retro picture of Cher I can stare at for hours while I listen. You not only get her usual well-known hits but also a lot torch-ballad tunes from her BitterSweet album. Fire and Rain, He Ain't Heavy, He's my Brother are hits by others that I love. Cher does them okay here, but I prefer the originals. It would have been nice if "I Got You Babe" would have been the original recording instead of a live version, but that is very trivial all things considered. Overall, this CD is one fantastic trip back through the 1970's --- a REAL STEAL for the money. Get it while you can at this price!

Half-Price Compilation focuses on Cher's early recordings. After achieving great success both as a solo artist and as «The Sonny & Cher» duo... Cher released her first record with MCA, titled `Cher', the album included the super No 1 Hit «Gypsies, Tramps & Thieves» & the American Top 10 hit «The Way Of Love».

Her second MCA record was titled «Foxy Lady» (1972), which included Cher's 3rd U.S Hit «Living In A House Divided».

Cher continued to make hits in the years 1973-1974. In 1973 she released her 3rd MCA record, «Half Breed» & a few months later came another chart-topper album «Dark Lady».

This compilation covers that era in Cher's career, & the songs are taken from those albums PLUS extra 5 recordings with Sonny (1 of them LIVE)

For it's price, it's a great CD to have in your collection.
