Review - Amazon.com :
In collaborating on Miracle, Celine Dion and her partner in baby love Anne Geddes carefully sidestepped the L-word--a smart move, considering that the songs captured here, despite their electric-blanket warmth, aren't always lullaby-like in their delivery. Though the collaboration is about babies--the liner notes to this CD provide a sneak peek at Geddes' visual wizardry available in both the expanded box set and book--Miracle is not necessarily for them. Which works out great for Celine fans who have made contact with their maternal sides. More than anything, the disc plays as a valentine to new mothers: "Le Loup, La Biche et le Chevalier (Une Chanson Douce)," "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," and John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy" get the trademark melt-away vocal treatment, causing the need to keep a box of tissues at the ready. While tenderness flows from each track as consistently as formula from a baby bottle, though, the chanteuse doesn't shy away from the passion and note-pounding that are also her trademarks. Thus, the miracle of Miracle lies not in its ability to soothe the tiny creatures it swollen-heartedly celebrates, but in its ability to set the sentiments of listeners who love them to song. --Tammy La Gorce

- Very enjoyable
I wasn't sure if I would enjoy this cd because it seemed different than most of the music that Celine has recorded in the past. Well... my hesitation was unfounded, as this cd is really good. Celine's voice is excellent and the production is well done. I enjoy all of the songs.

Some of the songs are repeated from previous Celine cd's (First time ever I saw your face, Brahms lullaby, The prayer), but the cd is still worth buying.

You don't have to have a child to enjoy this cd. If you love the sound of Celine's voice, then you will love this cd.

- In fine form.....
I was a bit skeptical about buying this album. There was just something about Celine having to team up with another person/group to do an album. However, I decided to give it a chance. At least she was teaming up with famous photographer, Anne Geddes, instead of a multi-million dollar corporation like Chrysler. While ONE HEART is a mixed bag of faster-paced songs and ballads, this new CD is chock full of slower odes to motherhood, and not surprisingly, Celine does a MUCH better job in execution. Her voice is in fine form here...not too strong and overpowering...and not to whiny either. What we get here is a harkening back to the days before her 2 year hiatus...back to the days of LET'S TALK ABOUT LOVE. The result is a nice album full of Celine's signature ballads that deserves to be in any fan's collection.

- For mothers and sentimental grown-up children...
I purchased this disc against the advice from others to avoid it as it had gotten some lacklustre reviews. I would have gotten it just because I am a Celine fan. I'm not particularly a fan of the Anne Geddes photographs, but that's not really what you're purchasing this disc for. It's the music. Sure - it's schlock and sap and all of those things that seem to label music as "bad" or "unworthy". At the same turn, I found my sentimental heart just going with the words and thinking of my mother and the things she may have been feeling from the day she knew she was pregnant. She has told me how much joy she felt and all of the things that concerned her. She also told me how happy she was when I was born; to find out that my birth helped tie a lot of things in her life together.

This album predominantly has a "lullaby" feel to it. There are no up-tempo tracks although there are some songs with a little more movement to them. The soothing sound is great to relax to after putting the baby down for a nap. It's sonically unintrusive and quite calming.

I'd recommend this disc for new mothers who might be able to share their thoughts and feelings with Celine's music. I'd also recommend this disc for any grown-up children who have had a good relationship with their mother. I think the words and sentiments might cause a few people to get a little misty as think about the mother they may have lost or to those who realise that their mothers won't be around forever and appreciate how selflessly she had given of herself.

Yes, it's schlock and sap, but sometimes we need a little bit of that to comfort us from the harshness of the world outside.

- THE BRIGHTEST MIRACLE IS THE MOST CHERISHED OF ALL
Together with Photographer Anne Geddes Celine Dion creates an album that celebrates the joy and love of becoming a new mother to a precious newborn baby thus the album's title Miracle. Through Geddes most cherished photos Celine makes the album come alive and it makes you feel like holding a newborn for the very first time. In the title track which will bring tears to your eyes when you listen tells every new mother that all babies are miracles when they are born and are God's gift to the world. The most beautiful song on the entire album is Celine's version of Regina Belle's If I Could. Celine first sang this song as a dedication to her infant son during her Las Vegas show and now for the first time is presented in a studio version specially for this album. Other songs that make the album worth the choice are the new version of What a wonderful world and the beautiful song A mother's prayer. So if you are a Anne Geddes fan and a Celine fan get this wonderful album. - Touching and relaxing for both mom and daughter!!!
My mother bought this CD for my daughter and I for Christmas, and it now lives in my daughter's CD collection.

I've played simple, relaxing music in her room all night long since she was born, and she likes this cd over the others (even over my favorite, "Of Love and Hope" from the TV show Beauty and the Beast, the little traitor ;-}).

The choice of songs really touches the heart of the parent, and the arrangements and gentle music and voice soothe my girl more than others do.

I'm not a huge fan of Celine Dion's, but I'd buy or recommend this CD for any parent or expectant parent as something to acquire for themselves, or to give as a gift without a moment's hesitation of wondering "will they like it?".
