- The title is a lie. This is NOT complete!
Due to legel reasons, there are several essential tracks missing on this compilation and also on volume 1 in this compilation series. On the second disc, half of the essential "Soul Revolution" album is missing. By coincidence (?), all missing tracks on vol.1 and 2 in this series can be found on the "Songs of Freedom" box set. Those who don't want to buy 4 box sets (these three + "Songs of Freedom" = 12 CDs) should examine "Soul Revolution" or "African Herbsman". These include the best of the Lee Perry sessions. The 4 CD box set "Trench Town Rock" (Charly) is also covering the Lee Perry period without omitting the essential tracks.

- What A Rat Race, Even The Title Tune Is Incomplete!
This set is sooo cheezy, even the title tune ends before the music & singing finish up! What basement did they find these things in? Bob and His Majesty must be hurling thunderbolts down on those who put this out! Smite them, Jah!

- for true wailers fans
this cd covers some of the wailers early work with (i think) lee "scratch" perry. the beginning of the cd has some classic tunes, but my favorite part is from track #10 to the end. with some truly rare cuts and some spine tingling dubs, the quality and quirkiness of the stuff in this collection make up for the lack of sound quality. yes, the sound is sketchy at times but what do you expect from tapes this old that have probably changed hands countless times. this is a true portrait of some of the beginnings of reggae music and its more psychedelic side, dub. if you are a wailers fan who is searching for the stuff you haven't heard - get this. if you are a lee perry fan - get this. not for the faint of heart, but with mind rolling bass lines and funky keyboard work, this is a collection for the ages.

- Nice CD
First, I advise you to buy Rock to the Rock, because this follows where Rock to the Rock ends. And Rock to the Rock is excellent (see my review). On this, Bob put's out great and fair songs. Greats such as Don't Rock My Boat, The Lord Will Make a Way, Chances Are, Selassie is the Chapel (which only 26 copies were ever made and a single was valued at [$$$] until it was put on cd), Feel Alright, Rhythm, Rock Steady alternate, Wisdom, Trouble on the Road Again, Black Progress, and Black Progress the instrumental take. The rest are fair, not bad, but fair. But first I advise you to buy Rock to the Rock. Then this. This CD is from Bob in 1968-1970. And it is a good buy for a real Bob Marley fan who likes his work, before his international albums.
