- Barry Manilow is a master of the love ballad.

I have always appreciated the music of Barry Manilow. In today's world where the beat is the most important part, and the lyrics are taken straight from the gutter, it is refreshing to hear the music of a truly gifted composer, and a fine human being. Mr. Manilow artfully weaves his melodies together with heart-felt lyrics that touch everyone that listens. This album/CD is one of his best. Weekend in New England soars with emotion that climaxes with a gentle resolution that flows like a soft autumn breeze. A classic in every sense. Thank you Barry Manilow

- THIS ALBUM RANKS AS MY ALL TIME MANILOW FAVORITE!

IT'S UNUSAL TO BUY AN ALBUM AND LOVE EVERY SONG BUT THIS RELEASE IS THE EXCEPTION. ALONG WITH THE HITS "LOOKS LIKE WE MADE IT" AND "WEEKEND IN NEW ENGLAND", I LOVE THE STUDIO EDITION OF "DAYBREAK" AND THE SONGS THAT FEATURE HIS PIANO PLAYING: "SEE THE SHOW AGAIN", "ALL THE TIME". I ONLY WISH THAT ARISTA WOULD RE-RELEASE THIS ONE AS A MASTERS SELECTION WITH A BONUS SONG!

- this one's for us

out of the 11 tracks on the CD, i like nine of them. the ones i don't like as much are "Say The Words" and "You Oughta Be Home With Me". i just couldn't understand Manilow on the second song, which has a title closer to a country song than what Manilow is used to...however the rest of the 9 songs are great. "Weekend in New England", "Looks Like We Made It", "This One's For You", and "Daybreak" were all SMASH HITS on the Easy Listening charts {now called AC, short for Adult-Contemporary}. In fact, they all landed high on the Hot 100 pop chart too with "Looks Like We Made It" selling a million copies and hitting #1 in 1977. The "Daybreak" on here isn't the single version...THAT was taken from his 1977 "LIVE!" album. "Riders to the Stars" is my favorite of all the songs on here that weren't singles.

- Another great Manilow album

The title track and 'Looks Like We Made It' were the big hits, but 'Daybreak' is so uplifting and fun! 'Jump, Shout, Boogie' is a fast tempo, feel good 40's type of song, and 'Weekend in New England' is a simple, beautiful ballad. Listen to the song samples and you will see what I mean.

- THIS ONE'S A KEEPER

THIS ONE'S FOR YOU is one of Barry's best albums and one of his biggest sellers. Five hit singles were culled from this effort: the #1 smash, LOOKS LIKE WE MADE IT; the bittersweet Randy Edelman-penned WEEKEND IN NEW ENGLAND; the euphoric DAYBREAK; the touching ALL THE TIME (one of his best songs); and the moving title track.

The remaining tracks are typical Manilow: the sultry SEE THE SHOW AGAIN; LET ME GO, a bluesy tune; the haunting SAY THE WORDS; the 40ish dance tune, JUMP SHOUT BOOGIE and the driving RIDERS TO THE STARS.

Manilow was at his peak in this 1976 release and fans will love this album.
