- Very cool new album!
Bananarama's new album fuses techno and electronica with very catchy dance pop. The first US single "Every Shade of Blue" is a great dance record, showing that they still have what it takes to shake up the dance floors like their 1980s heyday. Other potential hits include "Take me to your heart", "I found love" and "System". Although there is no classic like "I heard a Rumor" or "Venus" here, all the songs are great, and they affirm Bananarama's status as one of the best girl groups ever! Move over, All Saints and Spice Girls, because Bananarama's still got what it takes!

- This one should be called WOW!
As the occasional Bananarama fan (I bought their first two records on vinyl) I have always been slightly amused by the output of these girls and the devotion of some maniacal Bananarama fans - so I picked this up cheap and it is GREAT! GREAT! WOW! "Every Shade Of Blue" is one of their top 3 best singles - a true gem. This is a very interesting recording and quite satisfying all around! Go Girls!

- Contemporary and mature dance
This continues the "Pop Life" vein of strong, contemporary dance music with little resemblance to the pop ditties of 12 years before. Incredibly listenable.

- One Of The Very Best Of Bana's
This is indeed one of the GREATEST Bananarama album ever !

I have been a Bana's fan for more than 23 years (checkout the latest DRAMA album too), and ULTRA VELVET is one of my favourite.

Half the album tracks keep your dancing and smiling. Check out the remixes singles "Every Shade Of Blue" and "Take Me To Your Heart", they are FANTASTIC!!

Way to go girls, and looking forward for more great music!

- life after Siobhan (Shuv-on).....
This is it! the first project recorded by Sarah Dallin & Keren Woodword (a.k.a Bananarama). Since losing bandmates Jaqui O'Sullivan and , original bandmate Siobhan Fahey. The previous 3 released LP's are awsome too, if you can gain access to those as well, they are "WOW!",-Siobhan's last recording w/ the band, "Pop Life"-only Lp recording w/ Jaqui O'Sullivan. And last,"Please Yourself"-(import release only*)and first release as a duo! And then of course there's "Ultra Violet", the first released LP in the states as a duo, Includes an occassional ballad such as: "Maybe The Next Time". But overall a bass-thumping, club-sounding, dance-vibe feel LP. Stand-out tracks include: "Don't Stop Me Now", "Every Shade Of Blue", "System", "Give In To Me", & "I Found Love". Of course there's more but I have to leave you some surprises! You won't regret this purchase or this album, ecspecially those who love Bananarama, club-feel music, those who love to dance & party! And of course ALL will appriciate Bananarama's new sound on this one....there's is life after Siobhan!
