Description :
The Alkaline Trio has managed to put together a masterpiece on this, their third full length studio album. It is everything a punk record should be - dark, moving, cynical, hopeful, wide eyed and world weary all at the same time. Recommended for fans of Green Day, Jawbreaker and The Get Up Kids. Standard jewel case. 2001 release.Customer review - 2001-04-04
- Great Release!!!Alkaline Trio has been my favorite band ever since the first day I heard them a little over 2 years ago. This CD came out today, April 3rd, and of course, like any good fan, I went directly from school to go get it. ... If you like Alkaline Trio, Hot Rod Circuit, Saves the Day, or any other similar bands even the slightest, I definately recommend buying this CD. It's just as good as any of Alk 3's older stuff. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because as of now, nothing can top 'Goddammit.' That CD absolutely blows me away every time a listen to it. 'From Here to Infirmary' definately gives you the Alkaline Trio experience, and possibly a little more. Matt Skiba (lead vocalist) doesn't sing quite as much on this as he has before. Dan has a greater share of songs, which I think adds a little spice to the album. To get a taste of what the entire CD sounds like, I'd suggest listening to "Steamer Trunk," "Private Eye," and "Bloodied Up." I could actually list every song and it probably wouldn't make a difference because they're all good! If you get a chance, pick up the 'Hell Yes' EP as well. Definately a thumbs up for Alk 3 on this release!!

- Alk3's BestThis was the first Alkaline Trio cd I listened to, and in my opinion, it's the best. It really got me into the band, and helped me to get more into punk as a whole.
A lot of people would classify Alkaline Trio as pop-punk, but I'm not one of them. At least with this album, I wouldn't (their latest album, "Crimson" is quite a bit more poppy). On "From Here to Infirmary", the tracks are very catchy, and will most likely be stuck in your head for a while the first time you hear them. Matt Skiba's voice is very distinctive, and helps set Alk3 apart from other punk/emo fusion bands. Dave Andriano also sings on a few tracks. As far as lyrics go, most of the songs are about what you'd expect from an emo-like band, but seeing as Skiba's a satanist, he can't help but add a tone of darkness, right? Overall, the songs are very well-written, and fun to listen to, no matter what your mood.
From start to finish, "From Here to Infirmary" doesn't dissapoint, and if you're gonna get one Alkaline Trio album, make it this.

- Nose Over Tail for the TrioAlkaline Trio are a great band that have gained quite a following with the lil Hot Topic mall punk crowd. On the one hand, it's great that they are getting the recognition they deserve. Alkaline Trio are an amazing band, but at the same time part of me wishes I could go back to the days of seeing them in a small venue again. Anyway, when this came out I was totally obsessed with it. From the first track,Private Eye (sticks in your head for days) to the closer, and my personal favorite Crawl this cd is just one catchy song after another. As I get older, my musical taste has changed a bit, and the cds I loved in middle or high school tend to sit on the shelf awaiting a sentimental listen every once in awhile. But From Here To Infirmary is one cd I come back to again and again. I still know every song by heart and love it the same as I did the very first time I heard it. This is Alkaline Trio at their best, pop punk at its best and one of my all time favorite cds.

- As good as Goddammit and Maybe Ill Catch Fire..I have been a huge fan of Alk3 for over a year now, and they get better with every album. They are one of the best live bands i have ever seen... Infirmary sounds a little strange at first and is not like many of their other releases. It has a new and more mature sound and Matt Skiba continues his streak with another slew of amazing lyrics. Stupid kid is a great breakup song and will probably be Alk3's first radio single. My favorites are: Take Lots with alcohol (the drum solo at the beginning is sweet) Bloodied Up (great lyrics) You're Dead (makes me want to cry my eyes out.) Crawl (great song to listen to when depressed) Private Eye (maybe the best track on the CD) Another Innocent Girl (really unique sound) The whole CD is great... also check out Dashboard Confessional for the most amazing blend of acoustic guitar and emo i have ever heard..

- Not the greatest Alk3 records...but a good one none the lessI don't see why people are complaining about this album, It might be because i just found out about this band 6 months ago, But this is a top notch CD, I heard Stupid Kid and just fell in love...here is a review of each song Private Eye: 8/10 A great intro to the album, Dan sings this one, And while the lyrics are a bit dark (I dragged this lake looking for corpses/dusted for prints/pryed up the floor boards) It still is a good song worth a listen, i just think it gets repetitive near the end Mr. Chainsaw 8/10 Good Song, not my favorite, but I good song, Matt Sings this one (near the end Dan comes in), and both of them do a good job Take lots with alcohol 9/10 GREAT DRUM INTRO!!! Dan sings this song, it's about him and his psychatrist (sp.) and it's a song that does make you think Stupid Kid 10/10 GREAT SONG!!! matt sings it and it's for anyone that has just broken up with someone and is feeling down and out, it's sure to lift your spirt and it's very catchy! Another Innocent Girl 5/10...there isn't much to say about this song...Dan sings it...it's...kinda boring. Steamer Trunk 9/10 Not Sure what this song is about...Matt sings it..It's a good song, with awesome guitar, bass and drums, Worth a listen for sure You're Dead 8/10 Despite the very odd name, it's not what you may think it's about, it's about a friend dying and what a person goes through when dealing with it, Matt sings it, listen to it if you had someone close to you die. Armageddon 8/10 This Song can be found on Tony Hawks Underground, It's not a long song, but diffently catchy, Matt sings it I'm dying tommorow 7/10 Dan Sings this, it's about if he were to die tommorow, did he live his life right, just an alright song Bloodied Up 8/10 this is no doubt a good song, Matt sings it, Catchy, the only bad part is in the end, they redo the chours...and it just sounds bad Trucks And Trains 8/10 This doesn't sound like an alkaline trio song at first, but then the verse hits in and you know it's them, Great chours, but the verse..the bass seems to have something fuzzy going on while it is playing, Matt sings it Crawl 9/10 Dan Sings this, I guess it's about a hangover, and about how he regrets his girlfriend I guess...very awesome chours, great ending track In all I give this CD a 8/10 A Solid Release from one awesome band, go out and buy it! (note I am rating this album on the fact I also own goddamnit, which no Alk3 album can beat!)
