- Thanks ABBA for the Great Music! This two CD compilation is just awesome! I listened to the first CD for a month, so I can absorb their great hits such as my favorites, "One of Us", "Does Your Mother Know", "S.O.S". A month later, I gave the second CD a try. I was unprepared for the most excellent music I have ever heard! I regretted not getting this CD earlier for they got some great songs such as "I am the City", the too-cool-for-you "On & On & On", and the song that was way ahead of its time, "Under Attack", which would outchart today's pop hits if given the chance. The very musical "I Wonder (Departure)", sounds like something Julie Andrews would sing-- except the ABBA ladies put some great singing talent in to that one. I not only reccommend this collection, but I recommend the second CD, "More ABBA Hits". If that CD doesn't knock your socks off, nothing will.

- Amazing compilation with both hits and little-known gems!I figure most people have heard most of the tracks on CD 1. Songs like "Dancing Queen", "S.O.S.", "The Winner Takes It All" and "Waterloo" are classics EVERYWHERE. Some of the better tracks on CD 1, however, aren't that well known. "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" sounds suspiciously like the eurodance genre of the 90s and still sounds amazingly current. "Does Your Mother Know" is a straight out disco-rocker that features the guys on lead vocals! And "Super Trouper" has some sweet harmonies in the chorus. Disc 2 are where the real unknown gems come into play. The 60s influenced "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do" and "On & On & On" will get you singing and dancing. The more electronic songs like the never-before released (except on "More ABBA Gold") "I Am The City", "Under Attack", and "The Visitors" will fill the dance floor. And some of the ballads, like "I Wonder (Departure)" and "Our Last Summer" are simply beautiful. This is highly recommended for any CD collection.

- Who Wants To Be A Billionaire?I've recently heard that ABBA turned down a billion dollars for a 100-date tour. Having seen ABBA in concert, and having a particular dislike for this collection, "Forever Gold," I felt compelled to chime in with a review. If you're long-time fan, and have a decent ABBA collection, you've little reason to own - or to recommend - this repackage of "Gold," and (now deleted) "More ABBA Gold" to the casual fan, as you've hopefully gone all the way with the remasters, the box set, and perhaps, even the limited edition of "The Singles 1972-1982."For the afficionado merely seeking an ABBA package, there's way too much extraneous material here, it's not in chronological order, and the sound quality of the remasters leaves this one in the dust. But, if one simply must have a reasonably-priced, inclusive ABBA hits collection, right here and now, there's not much choice. The consumate overview for the curious listener is the unfortunately deleted, "The Singles: The First Ten Years." Barring the re-appearance of said title, rest assured there'll be many more ABBA compilations during our respective lifetimes, as ABBA was one of the most popular - and one of the best - pop bands in the history of recorded music.

- Excellent all-in-one collectionAfter hearing Dancing Queen in the movie "Muriel's Wedding" (which I also highly recommend), I decided to risk some of my money and buying ABBA Gold (the first CD in this collection). Ever since, I've been hooked! There are many misconceptions about this amazing group (which here in the States is only known for Dancing Queen). They are sometimes seen as a one-hit wonder disco group, but a listen to either of the CDs will show that's simply not true. With tear-jerking songs like "The Winner Takes It All" and the floor-stomping "Voulez-Vous", the songs on this 2-CD set will please all tastes. Aside from all their major hits, B-sides and lesser-known tracks are also included here. "Our Last Summer" tells the story of an old romance in Paris with lyrical and vocal precision. "Ring Ring", their first hit in Europe is also included here. It's a real shame that they broke up in the early 80's, but as shown by the highly successful musical "Mamma Mia!", these songs continue to live on. Some of today's music artists get by on either good looks or really elaborate production. But in the end, only the truly great survive, and ABBA is one group who has had enduring success for more than 25 years. For those of you who have begun discovering the wonderful music of ABBA, then this collection will get you off to a great start.

- Nothing compares to the genius of ABBA.What can be said about ABBA? You have to get the CDs, because words don't even come close to explaining the immense musical talents of Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. They've outsold the Beatles in most countries, and yet it's a pity that many people in the U.S. don't know or have forgotten that they existed. The fantastic beauty of this music puts almost any other artists out there to shame. The only thing bad about this collection of Abba's greatest music is that they couldn't fit more of it in there.
