- Take a chance on A1
I mean, sure they're a U.K. boyband, and there are hundreds of those, but A1 are great and get this, they actually write their own songs and play instruments,of course they have thoseannoying dance routines, but what can we do. The first song I heard of them is Take On Me, a cover of te well-known A-Ha song which instantly got my attention because I loved it and the second single I heard is No More which is equally great. I don't really like commercial pop, although that's what I usually buy. But when I saw the video for Pop by 'N Sync, it became clear to me that pop is very commercial these days and so I stopped liking that group. I think american pop bands aren't as good as the ones from abroad, and A1 are the greatest boyband out of the UK (with BB Mak of course) since, well, The Beatles. If you like pop and are searching, like me, for something that matters in a world where pop is so commercial, it's not even funny, please buy A1's CD, The A List because they are not so shallow.

- A1 Best of British Pop Music
A1 are quite simply the best british pop act to come out of the UK for a long time. What differetiates them from other boybands is that they write 90% of their own songs, play their own instuments and don't mime on stage! And if you think playing intruments means dodgy guitar twanging, think again. 'The A List' contains an inresistable blend of infectious pop and ballards, with two UK number ones (Take One Me and Same Old Brand New You). A1 are currently in America touring, so look out for them near you. This album is certainly for you if you like pop music, and even if you don't, the sound is edgy and and almost R&B like in some songs (I Wonder Why, Nothing But Trouble) to appeal to a wider range of audiences, and differentiates the band from the usual cheesy pop of Backstreet Boys and NSync. Even the ballards are stunning, with the excelent voices of the band easily carrying off an area of pop which can easily fall into the cheesy category. This album is a must-buy, and look out for their new album 'Make it Good' in the US shops soon!

- A Great CD!
I got this CD for my birthday last year. I first heard of A1 on The Hit List, Brit List, which I must comment, the show has gone way downhill since they got the new hosts. I still listen to this CD, which is a rare thing for me to do.

1.Take On Me-A pretty good remix, with good vocals. I give it 7/20

2.Same Old Brand New You-My absolute favourite song on the CD. It's catchy, and has good vocals. I give it 10/10

3.No More-One of he first songs I ever heard of by them, and I personally thought it was awesome. I give it 9/10

4.One More Try-It's a really good song, and has awesome lyrics. I give it 10/10

5.The Things We Never Did-My Second Favourite! I loved this song, and it really touched me. I give it 10/10

6.Too Bad Baby-Another of my favourites! It's a really good song about a guy who has a girl who treats him like [dirt]. His friends who at one point we told him to go for it, go get her, end up telling him to forget her. It started from the day I met her
Walked over me I let her.
Friends who told me go and get her
They're telling me forget her.
Too bad baby, Think I'm going crazy.
Someone take me
Nothings gonna save me.
are the lyrics of my favourtie part. I give this song 10/10

7.Nothing But Trouble-I didn't like thins one as much as i did others, but its not bad. I give it 6/10

8.Tomorrow-A wonderful ballad, with great lyrics. I give it 9/10

9.She Doesn't See Me-This was one of my least favourite songs. It's an okay ballad, but I didn't like it. I give it 3/10

10.Scared-Iacidentally downloaded this one day, but I really liked the song. I give it 8/10

11.Celbrate Our Love-The song is really fun to dance to, and has a fun rythm. I give 8/10

12.Living The Dream-This is a wonderful ballad, and I loved it. I give it 9/10

13.I Wonder Why-You would think this would be a ballad, but its actually a funky dance song. It's one of my favourites, and I give it 9/10

14.I'll Take The Tears-A sweet ballad, and it has good lyrics. I give it 9/10

15.One In Love-This is a good ballad with awesome lyrics. I give it 8/10

A1 is an awesome group, and I love their music. I look forward to their next CD!

- Watch Out, NSYNC...!
This seemingly non-descript little pop CD from British boyband A1 didn't have much of an effect on me at first -- in fact, I was close to dismissing it as a pale imitation of NSYNC's "No Strings Attached" -- until it suddenly and unexpectedly grew on me.

The album starts off with the excellent cover of A-Ha's "Take On Me". Then come the superb "Same Old Brand New You" (the album's biggest hit single, and for good reason) and the equally great "No More" -- which could be called cheap knock-offs of NSYNC's "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me", if only they weren't so darn good! Other highlights of this album include the hauntingly beautiful "She Doesn't See Me", the nicely-done ballad "One More Try", as well as the upbeat Latin-flavored number "Celebrate Our Love". And next time you're looking for songs for a Halloween party, "Scared" will fit right in.

If you like NSYNC's "No Strings Attached" and/or Backstreet Boys' "Millennium", go ahead and give this CD a try -- you won't be disappointed!

- Gag me with a spoon...
I had such high hopes when I saw these guys...then I heard the music. Insipid, un-inspired, pedantic...what can I say. Talk about re-inventing the wheel. Chin up backstreet...these guys pose no threat to the pop landscape. In fact, the fumes from the fake blond highlights on their jaunty little heads only add to the misery of listening to screeching attempts at harmony. But for the 8 year old in all of us...they are cute. Hope that's enough...if not, save 10 quid and go for Moby 18. Sorry.....
