Two men died after a scuffle in an elevator led them to bang into the door, which fell off its hinges and sent the two men falling down 11 stories. Residents claim they heard these two men laughing and hitting the walls only moments before entering the elevator.
They were not discovered until the elevator repairman came to fix the broken door at the Lefrak City housing complex the next afternoon.
This tragedy followed close on the heals of the death of Orlando Valle, who died early Saturday after he fell down an elevator shaft. During a fight with a B.E.D. nightclub employee, the man was shoved into the door, which popped open and he plummeted down the shaft.
This completely justifies my fear of elevators.
